I used to own this watch (pictured) and I am pleased to say it's back on my wrist after I managed to get it back off the previous buyer. 8)
I got the urge to try the Blacksteel Super Avenger so let this one go but unfortunately at 48mm + it was just too big for my wrists. The regular Skyland version is just right IMHO especially on the Blacksteel Ocean Racer Deployment. I would reccommend to all you Blacksteel owners to get this clasp because it finishes off these Blacksteel models perfectly.

Congrats. Looks far better than the DP strap and tang buckle, if you ask me.

Seen that baby somewhere before! :lingsrock:

You are right it's very cool with the different strap and clasp. Much nicer.

Great pics too!

It certainly is your old watch Dave and here are those stunning pictures you took of it a few years back. 8)

Shalako, I could not agree more. I flipped when they came out with the BS OR clasp. Haven't drummed up the $$ to get one yet, but it is on my list. Here is a nice croco option from Hirsch. If the buckle were black and deployant, it would be perfect. :)

The retail on the Blacksteel clasp is very expensive and you have to wait a while for them to arrive but it's worth it, here in the UK it's about £500 so around $900 I guess. Luckily I was able to get a good discount.
That Hirsch strap is stunning, could you not use the original Blacksteel buckle with that strap?

Fortunately I have a friend at a Breitling AD and I managed to get 40% off the price of the Blacksteel clasp.

Have you noticed any wearing of the dlc coating or scratches that expose the steel underneath?

This is my third different Blacksteel model and they have all been in mint condition accept one which I dented a while back. It was a significant dent on the side of the case and it still didn't expose silver underneath. My current Blacksteel as pictured was one of the first and was purchased in October 2007 and has had a few owners who have all worn it and there are no marks on it whatsoever. The DLC (Diamond Like Coating) Breitling use is designed to be very tough as well as be particularly aestically pleasing and is used by the company that do the DLC process for toughening up industrial tools like drill bits. It 's supposed to be considerably more resistant than steel and from my own experiences it definetly appears to be.
