You're spot on with that Shark, looks much more grey in that photo but in most other photos it looks brownish. Either way, it's a beautiful beautiful watch. Recently saw one on another forum for around $5900, I thought about it really hard but passed, went another route instead. I love the closed ends on the croc strap!

The most accurate representation of the amazing Type XXI dial I've been able to find. Note - in some light it has a slight brownish overtone. All the publicitypics/renderings simply miss the actual color of this 5 level dial.

Well I stand corrected, that thing is sick. Breguet really should take better pics, that looks much nicer than any of the other pictures I've found. So, when are you picking it up?

I handled one a few months ago and it definitely appeared brown in person to me. I didnt get any of the gray that the picture shows at all.

Here's a pick in different lighting from a different angle that shows the brown overtones. BTW, notice how all 3 subs are different depths.

I was quite surprised to see it wasn't just a brown dial. It looks charcoal grey with some brownish hue. Depends on lighting and angle. I walked it outside in sunlight and it was basically a glistening dark grey with metallic glints.

WOW the different levels in that dial are AMAZING.

What do you mean by closed ends of the strap?

He means the lug end of the strap is made to fit the watch just as if it was a bracelet. More common on rubber, but soemtimes see it on leather as it is here.

Ok that is what I thought. You know, I think this may be one of the design features that I do not like about this watch. I think rubber should do that against the lugs but not leather.

If I get it - will be on a bracelet.

Strap will have to be special ordered - short strap. Never get just one look when 2 are available.

I think I would go bracelet here. The watch head looks a bit too sporty to be on croc. Just my 2 cents.

No longer viewing this a a search for a grail - rather just the next watch I really want. Semantics and all.

Tried out the Type XXI again. The dial is a bit browner than I remembered. But I really like the entire watch - a lot. The dial is just beautifully done. The nicest I've seen in person. The case can only be appreciated in person. The bezel is much nicer than it shows in pics. Wears larger than 42mm. Much larger. The bracelet is very nice and the overall effect is more classy than sporty. I wore a blue dress shirt and suit to put the dial to the test and it passed nicely.

This is definitley the one. Still like the Fifty Fathoms Flyback, but the 45mm size is too close to too big for this type of price comittment. Looked again at the IWC 7day Portuguese, a couple Pams, and JLC MC Chono, but for me this Breguet wins.

Hopefully in a couple weeks. Yep, this is the One.

I agree with your sentiments, but one thing that really bothered me about it was the 60 click bezel. It just seemed sort of flimsy and cheap. I have the exact same issue with the JLC diving chrono. I can easily look past this flaw, but it just seemed cheap to me.
