I've clicked on all the links for 111...117...359...whatever the number. To me they all look the same. In my eyes, your best off buying the cheapest one and play it off as the the exspensive one :D

Such an uneducated comment. Most Panerai models share some basic design principles which carry on from its historic beginnings. Would you say that all Rolex's look the same seeing as they haven't changed their designs in decades? It's just a silly thing to say - each brand has their own position and basis for their designs. I'd much rather stick with brands such as Rolex and Panerai who keep to their origins.

This is actually one of the things I like best about PAMs. If you like the basic design to begin with then you can get pretty much whatever you want that follows that design. If you want a manual wind, auto, gmt, or chrono version they have them while still keeping to their basic design philosophy. I understand that some people want more variety, that's why there's other watch brands out there, but if you want a PAM you have plenty of choices without losing the classic Panerai look.

I agree I guess I kind of like how PAM does their model line up. That said, I am a person that has to know all my options and would feel overwhelmed if I ever when to pick one out. Here is a short list of what I would want.

High polished
Domed Crystal
DB Back (not a major factor)
Least amount of arabic numbers on the dial.
Date with cyclops
small seconds
NO power reserve.

Anyone know which model?

104 for a Luminor or a 287 for the Radiomir. Only thing they don't have is the display caseback and they each just have the 12 and 6 arabics.

I think PAMs look retarded on bracelets, you need a strap, just my opinion. I prefer the sandwich dial but the painted one looks nice also.

You may be right actually it would be a nice watch for work everyday. Still a nice size. Nice weight. Changeable strap choices. Not blingy, but not under the radar either. Do the numbers you pointed me towards have painted or sandwich dials or domed crystals?

Those have painted dials and as far as the crystals, I'm not sure. There are also more options if you're interested in a manual movement, actually there are a lot more options if you want to go higher in price. Their website is great, pretty easy to find out everything about every model.

Now why would I want to look when you were doing my looking for me?

I think the 104 is the one I keep coming back to each time. If it had the sandwich dial it would be a done deal. Also, I may get sick of a domed crystal, especially being an everyday work piece. I can see myself hitting it and then crying LOL

The 104 is really a great looking watch. I'm actually really interested in the 111, it's a manual wind without the date, but it does have the sandwich dial and a display caseback. I also like the look of the brushed case with the polished bezel. Either that or a 312, I got a while before I even think of getting one of those though.

When I first saw a Panerai I thought the same exact thing. I thought they were ugly, I thought that they all looked the same, and I thought they had a stupid piece of metal on the crown protector which reminded me of some sort of cigarette lighter...and I couldn't stand the cult-like Panerai owner's club.

BUT after doing more and more research, and trying on a ton of Pams, I quickly understood what the watch was all about. I have to man up and admit that I was totally wrong about them. The watches are stunning in person, the sandwhich dial is an absolutely beautiful look, and the crown protector is a very innovative creation. I was way off base with my initial reactions on their watches and Panerai owners seem to be a very kind helpful people.
