I just picked this rather unusual 6-pack up in Praque, The Czech republic in the weekend.

From left to right.

1965 black / white AOPA Navitimer.

1957 black / black AOPA Navitimer.

1966 NOS Cosmonaute with inner and outer box & papers.

1963 black / white AOPA Navitimer with 18 K applied AOPA logo and beads of rice bezel, only produced in 1963.

1962 first generation AOPA Navitimer (Cosmonaute) with the wider bezel, only produced in 1962.

1963 black / white AOPA Navitimer with 18 K applied AOPA logo and beads of rice bezel, only produced in 1963.

WOW!!!

where does one go about making a find like that? auctions, antique shows, jewelry shops?

I doubt very seriously Central Texas has anything remotely close to what is available in some of the larger metro American cities or very old euro cities, but I would like to start keeping an eye out at the right places.

Any advice fellas

Well you won't find six of them together very often, but there are plenty of 806s around - just look on eBay. Other than that then just keep your eyes open at local dealers and sales and try visiting any NAWCC events in your area.

Hi Kurt
First time I see this post, great find !
But a question on the 1962 AOPA 24hr Navitimer (Cosmonaute)

I though that the model with the white subdials was the 2nd Generation, and the all black one was the 1st Gen ?

They was made in black/black & black/white in both 1962 & 63, in 1962 they had the wide bezel, in 1963 the “normal” beads of rice bezel, just like the one you just bought, that one was made in black/white as well.
