Just took my B1 to the local Breitling dealer to have the battery replaced. They told me that it must be sent to the manufacturer to be replaced. They have replaced the battery on site 3 times over the years but now deny ever doing so even though each time I waited there for it.
Is this true about sending it to the manufacturer for a battery repalcement or are they pulling something on me?
Thanks.

Not sure why they would deny it, but if the watch has been through four batteries without anything more than the battery change then it needs a proper service anyway, which would mean getting Breitling involved.

I do agree that it may be time to send it in for an "overhaul". This is actually the third battey since new. What I question is them telling me they must send it in for a battery change when they did it in house the last two times. They claim they sent it in the last two times but I know this is not true since I waited for the battery to be changed both times. It just seems something is not right.

No idea why they would say that, perhaps they are no longer a service centre and were previously, but don't know why they would deny it.

If you have receipts try and show them those.

I would question them a bit more and find out if something odd is going on.

I was told the same thing with my B13050.1. They said they like to do that so the seal is replace and the watch is pressure tested for water safeness. I had 5 places that wouldnt touch it.....except 1 which said they wouldnt guarantee against water leakage.

Well yours is automatic, not quartz. You shouldn't be letting anyone except an authorised service centre anywhere near it anyway because they don't have access to Breitling parts.
