I'm currently shopping around for a Super Avenger.
Thing is I want it on the diver pro 2 strap with deployment instead of the SS.

I know the SS strap is worth more than the rubber strap.
Would if be possible to negotiate a discount if I were to get the AD to change the straps over, and if so, how much more is the SS worth?

My AD is willing to give me 15% off the SA with the SS bracelet.

You should be able to. Breitling prices their watches by the head and the strap. Since the rubber strap is about $400 hundred less than the bracelet it should be cheaper. If you go with the ocean racer or diver pro II on a deployment though it will only save you about $100, that deployment clasp is pretty expensive. I'd have to say though, get what you really want. If you want the bracelet it might be worth saving a little more if that's what it takes to get it.

actually on a deployment its not much less than a pro II, a pro II is only $550, with deployment, the rubber is like 4 i think.

I'm confused. I think we pretty much said the same thing but I'm not sure.

You said the rubber on deployment is like $400 less son the watch should be that much cheaper. I said the rubber deployment isn't much cheaper at all because the pro II is the cheapest racelet

$500 versus $410.

Actually I said that a rubber strap is $400 cheaper but if he got the ocean racer or diver pro II on deployment it would only be about $100 cheaper, but I re-read it and I can see how you got confused.

That whole thread was confusing :wowzers

Rubber Deployment $410, Pro II Steel $500. Just like Shark said. So.. Should an AD discount you more on one or the other? No. But you will save $90 USD if you go with rubber over Steel.

What color SA are you looking for?

Diver Pro II with tang buckle $110, so he could save $390 by going with that. That's what we were saying, just in a much more confusing way.

OP said that he wanted deployant, which rules out the tang option.

The saving would likely be less than $90 because the dollar discount would be higher on the bracelet (same % discount) - for example, using the 15% that the OP mentioned then the SS comes out at $425, the DPII on deployant comes out at $348.50, a saving of $76.50, smaller difference with a larger discount.

Either way, to me it is pretty much a wash - if you are spending that much on the watch get the one that you prefer - the cost difference will be irrelevant for 99.9% of the time that you own the watch.

It's not the strap that's expensive, it's the deployant clasp.
