I have all short tangs. This means I can buy a couple deployments and use the strap pieces in deployment? If so it's off to the AD I go today. I had no idea.

I didnt realize this either. I like the the look of a tang for classic watches such as the original Navi etc but I know tang straps take a beating pretty fast so I always like when companies make straps to look like tang but really are deploy's. I wonder if this is what my next watch I have coming is like? Hmmmm Roff?

Oris deployment requires a strap with holes so strap is the same as for tang.

Why do I have the feeling that you're gonna buy a new watch just to get the deployment

Deployant........

My opinion - a tang strap will not look the same as a deployant strap with a deployant clasp. You will see the holes and the hole for the tang buckles 'pin'.
Deployant straps cost the same as tang straps so get the right strap. The clasps are a lot more expensive than the tang buckles.

Nick,

you need a 22/20 for your datora.

I had a brown croc and a black croc on mine and both looked supurb!

Be aware that the ones in your liknk are not Breitling straps (they are aftermarket, made 'for' breitling but not by Breitling) a totally different feel IMUHO.

Thank you! I'm sure they are aftermarket straps. Is there a better company making these straps? I feel, the most important part is the buckle.

If you are worried about the buckle, buy the breitling one, but its expensive. If you want something custom made for less money (but still not cheap), check out ABP Paris. They probably have the best quality custom stuff around.
You can get the buckle alone for 50 in steel and 150 in gold if you wanted to , some people on ebay sell them as NOS .

List for the SS buckle is actually $25, but I'd love to know where you get new gold tang buckles for $150. List is between $550 and $1,200 depending on size and type of gold.

They are obviously aftermarket. I always stick with OEM products.

Good sir, I noticed the red stitch on my datora to match mine. Could look good? Also I'm wondering if anyone knows about their prices. I was deciding between white and red stitches on black croc deployment straps.
