So now it's between the FFF and Type XXI. Clearly the FFF is much more of a "pop on your wrist" watch. It doesn't get near bland as some pics suggest. The Type XXI doesn't have as much "WOW!" but it is a gorgeous piece as well.

The Type XXI Doesnt have as much WOW? WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I usually agree with a lot of your views but this one I just can't stomach. I'm literally going to throw up right now. :footinmouth:

DUDE! Obviously it has plenty of wow or I wouldn't be creaming all over the boards about it. Just that having looked and worn the FFF, it wasn't AS wow.

How did the MC Chrono look on your wrist, size-wise? It's a great-looking watch.

Recently I've been tempted by the MC Diving GMT as well.

Definitely curious. We have the same wrist size and I'm looking at the MC Chrono and Master Control Chrono at the moment.

I've tried the FF and it did nothing for me... NOW as for the XXI..... i'd like to quote my favorite TV character George Costanza "i think it moved" "It moved! It was imperceptible but I felt it."

Breguet XXI is an incredible watch for the money they ask second hand (about $5500).

Its entry level Breguet but still stunning IMO.

I know I'm in the minority but from the pics, I don't really like either of them. Is the dial on that Brequet brown? I personally don't like anything other than black or silver/white dials maybe blue on a good day. And the Blancpain doesn't really do anything for me either. I need to get to a good AD and see these things in real life.

Its brown. I wouldn't own the XXI as my only watch, but it certainly adds something to any collection.

I don't know why people refer to certain pieces as grails - I love way too many pieces to do that.

I suppose for now I would call my PAM127 "Fiddy" my grail. 233 still holds a very special place with me also.

I think you answered your own question - yoy need to see them in person. From pics I was all over the IWC, but I in person not so much. I didn't expect much from the Breguet, but was wowed by it today. The dial has browish overtones but is mostly a brushed metallic grey.

Same deal with publicity shots of the Zenith Defy 43. Not so great until I held one.

How about the XXII? This is my grail.

Shark...did you happen to see this one today?

For me a grail is a watch that is almost unattainable, like the JLC Master Calender for me. I love that watch and is I saved for like 2 years and sold some plasma or something I could get it. One day I'll get it, but for now it's just out of reach.

Now, the Type XX with the black dial I like. Unless I'm an idiot and they make the XXI with a black dial, then I'll like that one too. I just don't like the brown dial. Very impractical for me. I can appreciate what a fine timepiece it is, but I wouldn't buy it.

Sergio, now that I like.
