A few days ago I purchased a Breitling Geneva gold watch with the three internal dials that are black on a white face and two push buttons, one above and one below the stem. The band is brown leather in excellent condition. On the stainless steel back center is the letter "B" in script,and is above the word BREITLING. Below that is a faint stamped number "815" and below that is, I believe, the serial # 1 416 030 in heavy print. The shop I purchased it from has a huge collection of watches, wall clocks, and jewlery. They do repair work and have restored three pendulem clocks over 100 years old that we own.

What can you tell me about this watch and how can I get specs and instructions for operation and care. Thank you. Dan Boessow mldanb@cox.net

This picture is almost identical to my watch except the three inner dials are black with white lettering. The hands hour markers are identical. Dan

Well model 815 is a 3 register with black subdials, but the case is generally round, I don't think that I have ever seen one with the case style like the picture that you posted.

The watch is part of the long playing range and dates from 1973 and should have the manual wind Valjoux 7736 movement.

In terms of operating instructions, well wind it with the crown as you would expect, being careful not to overwind it (stop winding when resistance increases). The top pusher starts and stops the chronograph (stopwatch) and the bottom pusher resets the chronograph - that will only work when it is stopped.

You may want to consider a service for the watch if you don't know the history - you can easily damage the movement if it run without good lubrication.

Thank you for the information on this Breitling 815. Very helpful. The watch is round and has the usual straight posts to support the leather band. The pic I posted is the only one I could find that was close.
This watch was serviced and should be ok, I am told, for 3 to 4 years. It is very accurate, minus 10 to 30 seconds over a 24 hour period comparing it to internet time. Dan

Yeah 3 to 4 years is about right. Potentially longer depending on the quality of the oils that were used.

Glad that it has the round case, I would have been worried otherwise - it's a nice watch.
