Looking to purchase a Breitling on the board from a seller in the UK, trying to find the safest (insured) route to get it here. Any advice would help, this would be my first time purchasing a watch from overseas.

Thanks!

Depending on the value of the watch, you may not be able to insure it fully. See Driver8's thread here for more information:

I'm not sure whether the situation there has improved in the year or so since that was posted.

PS forgive the excessive highlighting, which is due to my clumsiness with the search function.

If you live in FL...as your screen name implies...I would say the best route would be across the Atlantic?? :uplaugh: Bad joke I know. Good luck with your purchase....what are you looking at buying?

Hi Chris - Otto has pointed in the direction of my experience of sending watches abroard from the UK, and let me tell you, it's a real pain! One way round it is for you to arrange 3rd party insurance though a company at your end in the States. You apparently have companies that will insure goods in transit, whereas here in the "western third world" UK we don't.

You can just delete everything after the "85889" in the URL and it will show up with no highlights (or "hilit" as used in the link).
