Guys my SS Seawolf is currently with BUK for a warranty repair on the clasp, now I picked it a year old but with a few minor marks, swirl in the polished case side a a few marks on the brushed case from strap changes and around the bracelet from daily use.

Now as the watch us with BUK I asked about them polishing it up, and have been qoutes £204 for a full polish.

Now I'm in the dilemma do I pay this so I get it back in showroom condition or do you think I could possibly polish it myself ?

BUK customer service has been top notch and offers to polish out the swirl on the polished case side FOC but of course would charge if I wanted a full polish.

Now pretty confident I could cape cloth the polished areas but it's the brushed parts I'll have to do myself and not to sure now easy that would be !

If it was you in this position what would you do ?

Cheers

Many here, me included, sinply use a small piece of a scotch brite ad to restore brushed finish.

But were it me and the watch was sitting with Breitling, I'd le them do it perfectly. Seems a reasonable cost to slip on a watch like bran dnew from factory.

If you can live with it until it is in need of a service then the full service option will include refinishing the case, and will be more cost effective that having the case done speparately.

Hmmm turn around on full polish is 6-8 weeks !

My thinking now is get it back attempt to polish out the few minor marks myself and go from there.

If it comes up spot on doing it myself Result ! If not I still have option of full polish at the same cost or in a years or so time instead of minor maintenance recommend after 2-3 just send it just send it in then for the overhaul.

Now question for the UK guys where do you get your Cape cloths from and what type of scotch brite to use ?

Cheers

Quick update:
BUK will have my watch for the next 6-8 weeks while it gets some TLC lol

Christina at BUK has been an outstanding help, her attention to detail and great customer service is second to none, after exchanging a few emails we decided that I will have the watch returned fully polished :-)

So yes the wait is going to hurt but least I know I'll will have the Seawolf back gleaming !
