What watch is LeBron wearing on his"Decision" broadcast?

I just saw a flash of his left wrist. Looks like a red color combination of the AP Royal Oak? Any other guesses?

What a sell out that guy is. Even I can win a championship with d-wade and bosh on my team. Lebron....... riding coat tails to a championship. And to conduct a circus like that to announce he's leaving cleveland?.....NO CLASS. But what else should I expect from a basketball player? My favorite is how he was preaching how important education is. I guess he means that education is important for everyone else. For him the almighty dollar is more important than education. Hey Lebron, what was your major in college again?...oh...wait........ Thats right......

Can't wait to see you lose to the Lakers in the finals next year.

And I don't even like basket ball! Im a Baseball / Hockey Fan!

I'm sorry dude but if I had a chance to make a billion dollars right out of HS there's no way in hell I would go to college. As far as him being a sellout and only caring about money, he's actually going to be making about $30 million less by leaving Cleveland. He was there for 7 years and couldn't win a championship with greats like Zilgouskis (sp?) and Mo Williams, yeah I don't think anyone else could either. Why else would anyone play a professional sport but to win a championship, so that's what he's doing, going with the best way to win a championship. KG and Ray Allen did it a couple of years ago and people said good, they deserve a championship. LeBron, Bosh and Wade are young enough to win a couple. Of course I would have rather seen him go to the Knicks, but it doesn't surprise me he went with Wade and Bosh.

I'm not going to begrudge anybody for making money, legally of course. Do I think that athletes deserve all the money they get, no I don't. That being said it's there and people are willing to give it to them so why wouldn't they go for it. As far as the circus surrounding his decision, I think that the media is as much to blame as LeBron. They've been talking about where he would be going for the past 2 years, it was going to be a big deal even if he held a press conference in his backyard. Hell, ESPN had a spot on their website called "LeBron Watch", plus he's a business so as much exposure as he can get will make him even more money and I can't really blame him for wanting it.

Sorry about that.

Did you happen to take into account the fact that the state of Florida has no state income tax? So by the point alone, he will be making about the same if he was to go anywhere else. If he was a true champion he would be able to win in cleveland. But as we have seen in the years eastern conference final, he just couldn't perform. His team was able to, but he wasnt. By him moving to miami with wade and bosh, this is just a way for him to guarantee that his teamates will be able to cover for him when he has a lapse and to guarantee a championship. I honestly think it was a total shame that he moved away from cleveland. After everything that city has given him and how much they believed in him......he just shit on them. I feel bad for not just their fans, but the whole state of ohio. The amount of hope and money that he was able to pump through a distressed economy was awesome. Just goes to show that there was no true loyalty to his home. Cleveland fans have every right to burn those jerseys.

Quote:
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner

I really don't see anything wrong with this. That's the point, to win championships, what's wrong with doing everything you can to do that? As far as loyalty, I can't think of too many athletes who are loyal to a team, or too many teams that are loyal to athletes. It's a business and everybody involved knows that. He tried to win for 7 years and couldn't, I'm not saying he's the next MJ, there will never be another MJ and I'm in the opinion that Kobe is the only player that can come close, but he's a great player with an unbelievable PR team behind him. He's treating basketball like a business and doing what it takes to win. I'm sure if I was a Cavs fan I'd be pissed and if I was a Heat fan I'd be ecstatic, but I'm neither, I'm a Knicks fan so I'm just screwed. I really do understand what you're saying, but I think that the whole loyalty thing in sports is ridiculous. Be loyal to your family and your country, but if you can get a better deal at another job go for it. In my opinion the Cavs have benefited more from LeBron being there for the past 7 years than they would have without him even if they didn't win a championship. Before LeBron their most memorable moment was getting beat by MJ at the buzzer in the Eastern Conference finals. He brought the whole franchise back to relevance, now if he wants to go somewhere else and win a championship, who cares, let him.

It's amazing that I just wrote that much about a subject that I really don't care about, at least it should be easy to pick next years finals teams, Laker vs Heat. I doubt I'll watch.

Only saw clips and didn't notice the watch - I think that's what the thread was asking right?

GREENWICH, Conn., July 8, 1990 -- Michael Jordan announced on national television he's leaving Chicago to join the Detroit Pistons. Jordan said it was tough to bolt Chicago, where he was the most popular athlete in many years, because he thinks he has a better chance to win a championship if he plays with Pistons star Isiah Thomas. Jordan said by playing together, he and Thomas "won't have the pressure of going out and scoring 30 every night."

That would have sounded absurd, right? Well, it is no more absurd than what LeBron James is doing. Jordan was 27 years old in 1990, slightly older than James is now. He had never been to the NBA Finals. He had been beaten up by the Celtics and Pistons for years. He doubted his supporting cast was good enough.

But he never doubted himself.

And it became very clear Thursday night that LeBron James does doubt himself. James will be a champion in Miami -- if not next year, then sometime after that. If you put James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh together and give Pat Riley five years to find the complementary pieces, that team will win a championship.

But James does not have the heart of a champion. He does not have the competitive fire of Jordan, the bull-headed determination of Kobe Bryant, the quiet self-confidence of Tim Duncan, the willful defiance of Isiah or the winning-is-everything hunger of Magic Johnson.

He is an extremely gifted player who wants the easy way out. He just jumped into an elevator and wants us to believe he can fly.

I just want to say that I don't know LeBron so I can't comment on his heart, competitiveness, confidence or any of that. I can be pretty sure he wants to win and if that means taking the easy way by playing with other all-stars then I don't blame him. He's not cheating or breaking any rules. The only thing that the Cavs did for him was be bad and lucky enough to get the first pick when he was going to get drafted. If he wasn't from Ohio this wouldn't be nearly as big an issue. When KG left Minnesota nobody said a word and I think he was only there for 8 years, maybe it was longer, I don't remember. I just don't get why it's such a big deal.

That letter is hilarious by the way, I don't see how this guy can guarantee a championship before LeBron can get one. If their front office skills were so superior why aren't Wade and or Bosh going to Cleveland to win? Now he's going to do it with Delonte West and Mo Williams? Let's not forget that these geniuses let Carlos Boozer go not all that long ago, and now he's one of the top free agents out there.

I'm done now out of respect for the OP and because this has gotten way off topic. Thanks for the discussion though, I haven't had a real sports related argument in a while.

According to the AP forum on TZ, it was an AP ROO Volcano.

Back in December when I was paying for my first Breitling, the AD asked me if I liked basketball (hmmmmm...free Sun's tickets?!). He told me to turn to the Rolex cases and there was King James and his possee - a large one at that - looking at Rolexes. Was within a week of Christmas and Cleveland had played Phoenix the night before.

I later learned he had left with "more than 10" Rolexes. Stocking stuffers, I soppose.

(BTW , this AD is also an AP dealer).

It definitely looked like an AP ROO of some type.

More importantly, the city of Cleveland has a lot to be pissed about. The guy preached constantly about how much he loved his hometown any chance he got. Everybody, including Cavs fans, knew he was leaving. Cant blame the guy for that. But to turn it into a circus and basically give them a slap in the face on national tv was just totally uncool. Leaving the cavs was already a touchy subject, so youd think he'd have a little bit of class and make a deal and have it announced like any other player. Seriously, how many people realize that Kevin Durant just signed a 5 year extension with OKC? Thats how Lebron should have done it. Good luck to him. he sold out his people, and I can guarantee he'll regret it down the line, regardless of whether or not he wins a title. Art Modell still admits that he cant shake off what he did 20 years ago.

Side note, anybody else think these guys might be a huge flop? Three of the best surrounded by 8 other throw-ins, unless these guys take even less money to fund some better players? Its gonna take a few years before they can put together a solid team like the Lakers or Celtics, and I can only imagine that a lot of teams will be tentative about giving up anybody good to them. He should have gone the the Heat with DWade and left CB4 along the roadside. That extra 15 mil could have built up a great team to surround them.

Side note # 2. Anybody else think that a bunch of players getting together and all agreeing to take pay cuts to win is kind of cheesy?

Good to hear my watch spotting skills are up to snuff. I've been getting some practice watching the World Series of Poker

Personally, I think it's hilarious the LeBron actually has "Loyalty" tattooed on his chest. If that's not an advertisement against ink, I don't know what is! Those tats always stay with you!

@ RJ Didn't Karl "The Mailman" Malone take a pretty big pay cut to try to get his ring in LA?
