My friends, once again I ask your help.
I've been looking around to buy my first Breitling, and I came across this one, I would like your opinion.

At a quick glance it's a total fabrication. Model and serial numbers don't match Breitling and bridge and dial signatures look like an afterthought. Breitling also didn't use double casebacks - their gold is thick enough that it's not needed.

How About this one? the sellers says the dial is refinished, but what concerns me is the movement, somehow does not seems like the original onde Roff has pointed to me once in this other watch http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=18280
So, there goes the photos.

Red lume hands are a little interesting too!

There's nothing obviously wrong about the movement, but it's unsigned, which is a problem for me on this - especially with the refinished dial. That tells us that the dial is admitted to be wrong and the movement could be from any watch - stay well clear.

I thought so, another fake. I didn't even notice the red lume hands.
I am trying to find a vintage Breitling, like this one, from the 40s, something like that, no chrono, just a good vintage one, but it has been a pain.
Thanks for your help again Roff.

I'm a bit confused though at times whether Breitling used Landeron movements or not... I believe the above movement is Landeron...

I'm not an expert on the time onlys, would need to hit Bestfit to ID the movement for sure.

In terms of Landeron, the only evidence that I have seen was a thread on here a year or so back about maintenance / parts. I've never seen a Breitling with a Landeron movement that I would have been happy spending money on.

I'm started to get really mad with this sellers. First there has been a bigger production of Breitlings in Argentina than there has been in Switzerland. But that's kind of ok, what makes me more mad is sellers that tries to tell wonderful stories, I found one that claims his watch was bought in a recently Tiffany's auction, with an oxidate movement, not singed, and erotic dial!! Incredible
But now I have a new concern in the real world, the movement somehow does not seem original to me, it is not singed, so kind of concerns me, and it looks a lot like the ones from the chinese sellers on ebay and has no serial number of any kind, but I don know.

The the rest of the watch seems ok, the dial is aged, so probably is not refinished, but we never know. The back of the watch is clearly bad, but I am supposed I can live with this for a good price.
Thanks for the help

Don't immediately recognise the movement, and very much doubt that it's right. Are there model / serial numbers?

That's 1946 for a non chrono, possible to be unsigned, but I'm just not sure what movement that is so I can't be sure whether it's one that Breitling used.

Thanks again for your help Roff, is there any other information that may help identify if it is real or not?

Do you have pictures of the rest of the watch, caseback, etc?
