Anyone else attend the Goodwood FOS this year?

I went yesterday (5th year running) and it was as superb as ever. It is, without a doubt, the best car event on earth IMO. We were inches away from moving F1 cars..... honestly - one of the Red Bull's nearly ran over my foot while they were driving it back to the paddock through the crowds! You'll never get as close to that

Apart from the F1 cars (which are always a standout for me) and all the "usual" supercars, it was great to see the "Stars, Cars and Guitars" section where they had customised cars owned by the likes of Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), James Hetfield (Metallica) and Jeff Beck. Awesome stuff.

Another standout for the show was the Arvo Vulcan XH558 bomber doing an air display overhead. The view was actually better than at the Farnborough air display.

PS - sorry guys but I've got no pics ; the iPhone is great for many things, but the camera isn't one of them!

Would love to go but it's a bit of a trek for me. Saw some of it on TV.

Planning to go to the Pageant of Power at Cholmondeley later this month which they're trying to make the Goodwood of the north.

And one of the sponsors is Breitling!

That looks quite an interesting event there Sharky, and the fact that Breitling are sponsors is good thing! The official timekeepers at Goodwood are Bremont, and they had a tent there with quite a few pieces on display. Not really my thing though.

On the subject of watches, there were a few jewellers with stalls at Goodwood and I had the pleasure of trying on a Limited Edition Shaq AP ROO. It was a whopping 47 or 48mm across, but it looked amazing on the wrist..... although I wouldn't buy a Shaquille O'Neil branded watch, personally! Anyway, when we left the tent my girlfriend said (in all seriousness), "That was quite reasonable, why don't you treat yourself?" Once I'd picked myself up off the floor I asked her if she saw how much it was. She replied, "Yes, the sticker said £2000". To which I replied, "Not quite, it actually said £20,000!" (And that was used, with no box or papers!)

They also had a BRM stand there, with their new 48mm in-house equiped beauty. The movement and look is a real work of art, but it was WAY too thick, made of titantium (no thanks), had PVD (no thanks) checks on the case, and cost upwards of 14k GBP. But even so it was great to see a few BRM's in person.

I like some BRMs. Didn't realise the price though. And as for the AP
