What if you just get green leather or croco strap?

You can wear it with any watch and it will cost you reasonable amount (compared to Bentley).

Great choice, Mfserge!

Are you going for the Classic Sub LV or the upcoming Ceramic Sub LV? :lingsrock:

I know you're set on a B but the Green Milgauss always intrigued me.

As a previous Sub LV owner I'd suggest steering clear of it unless you are totally fine with the old-school tin-foil Rolex clasp and hollow linked bracelet. If you're used to something solid like a Breitling or Omega, you will be sorely disappointed with the classic Sub set-up.

That said, the head is beautifully made and superbly well finished.

Personally I think that if you want a green Sub, then the new generation models are the only way to go IMO.

There's always the Steel and Gold Chronomat with a green dial like the pics posted on pg 1. I'm not too big a fan of green dials, but isn't that pretty much what you were looking for?

You could problaby go for the new black sub and add a green bezel as a spare part? Two watch in one!

The 50th Anniversary SUB I am getting includes a 2nd OEM Black Bezel...so i'm kinda getting two watches in one... kinda sorta. I like the aniversary model because the hands are markers are slightly larger than the standard sub. BUT I do like the new SUB since it has the ceramic bezel.

Sorry this is not so much about watches, but I have to say congrats on the impending daughter/heiress! We had a baby girl 9 months ago and can tell you it's (as you would expect) a life-changer beyond expectations. The good times and heart-melting that are coming your way are worth so much more than any amount of long nights. :D On topic, my first and only 'proper' watch was as a present to myself for reaching the big 3-0 and becoming a father, and even that was partly with her in mind!

Hope all goes well!

Thanks!!! Congrats to you as well!! I'm beyond excited for her to arrive. Everyone keeps saying it's a life changer....I can't even begin to imagine but I know for sure she is going to be so spoiled! So what was your 'proper' watch for turning 30?

This is precisely why I can't get my self to pull the trigger on a Rolex Explorer II. It looks so awesome in pictures but feels cheap on the wrist compared to my Motors T and Omega PO.

Hello Mr Mfserge,

Congrats on you and your wife's pregnancy.

I had a Sub LV for 6 years and loved it.

However, I do prefer the green bezels of these two.

However, if you are getting the black bezel as well you effectively have two watches in one, as you say.

Can't wait to read your thoughts on the Sub LV and see your pictures.

Best of luck for the birth.

Thanks!!

I also, prefer the green bezel on the SOCH but I already have a SOCH LE. Another shocker which I didn't mention earlier was when I was speaking to the seller of the Sub LV I asked him for the date of purchase, he went to his safe, opened it up, pulled out the warranty card, he read me the date of purchase, and it was dated for the baby's due date!! I almost fell off my couch I couldn't believe it. All the stars have aligned so I have to get the Rolex Sub LV! I'm sure she won't be born that day but still...how crazy right?
