My Colt has a few scratches on the bracelet. I want to polish it myself, looking for information on how to proceed. Any helpful suggestions would be great! Thanks

For polished finishes, Cape Cod polishing cloths (and plenty of elbow grease) are the preferred choice.

For brushed finishes, a fibreglass pen is good for small scratches, or very careful use of a Scotchbrite pad for larger areas is the order of the day.

Cape Cods and fibreglass pens can be picked up on eBay : Scotchbrite pads from your local supermarket!

It depends how deep your scratches are.

For small scratches Cape Code will be enough, for deeper scratches you may need to use super-fine sandpaper first.

FYI, Radio Shack sells a fiberglass pen #276-039 for about $7, while the ebay one goes for about $17. If you go this fiberglass pen route, remember to go slow and light. Take your time.

Cape Cod sounds like it should do the trick.

I recently "invested" in a bench grinder with a couple of cloth wheels and some polishing compounds to do full polishes. It wasnt as easy as I thought, nor did it turn out a like new finish (id say I got to about 8/10), but it was definitely more thorough than a Cape Cod. I think a better compound (green?) should do the trick.
