This is the second watch like this one i have seen too late. I am not a vintage watch expert but this one seems beautiful to me, so if anyone has one similar to this for sale for a similar price, i would be very interested.

alternatively, any info on the specific model would be helpful so i can hunt one down...

thanks
malachey

Lucky escape - that's a pure fabrication.

The crystal is completely laughable, the serial and model numbers are completely inconsistent with Breitling numbers, and nothing here belongs to a Breitling.

Oh yeah, and never buy a watch from China!

There are plenty of watches on eBay, even after discounting Chinese and South American garbage, just ask us when you find one and we'll set you straight.

The example you link to has the common Chinese reproduction dial, but it is interesting that it doesn't have the standard model reference number and usual movement. It's like they're not really trying.

I noticed that these crowns are now available as new old stock offerings on eBay. Omega crowns, too. I asked the seller, who we will recognize as "kent.ct," how he came by them and from inventory they come. He just answered that he "gets them from his watchmaker." So, it's interesting to see how the revolution in machine tool capability has made "reproduction" so easy.

Gots to stay on our toes.
