So I don't think I have ever been as excited as I am waiting on arrival of the new SOH this weekend. I cant wait for that first comment on how sharp it is.

Anyhow, already thinking about the incoming Navitimer, and how to get that done asap. I am looking in the second hand market, and was curious about the added value of a more recent year model watch vs an older production date. In other words the navi design has remained pretty consistent, and I would think I would be happy with anything made in the late 90's and beyond.

That being said is there a major price/value/quality difference between say a 2005 and 1998 model. (Just example figures)

Keep me in mind if you have or see anything. Looking for black face white arabics

Pre 2000 models won't be COSC certified, which will bring the price down slightly - but it's still essentially the same quality watch.

Older watches will obviously be cheaper, but no real difference in quality. You need to consider service history on older watches, but on the flip side, you can get a never serviced watch with a scratched up bracelet for a bargain and then hive Breitling $500 or so for a full service, get a 1 year warranty, a watch that won't need another service for 5 - 7 years and a brand new look after they've polished it.

I bought one that should arrive tomorrow.

If the OP doesn't post some pics soon, I will straight up jack this thread with my own.

Sorry guys....I had to catch up on all of the work I missed yesterday while I was alternating between staring and wiping the face clean.

As of now no pics because I took it it to get sized and the local AD wasn't in, so I had to leave it there. I am assuming I should get it back tomorrow. If not....well lets just not go there.

First chance i get though....I will get some pics up.

I had my Chronomat Evo and my Lemans completely overhauled over at Breitling Canada and got 2 years of warranty
. Just curious, was it ever 1 year?

As I said to you in PM months ago when you asked it's officially 1 year Breitling warranty. No idea why Grigoros decide to make it 2 years.

So I go to pick up my watch today and am told that they would not size it because I didn't buy the watch there. Is this pretty standard? I dont doubt for one minute if I went in looking to buy a new strap or band he would be willing to swap them out, which I guess I would consider the same thing.

Anyhow, I went ahead and just did it myself, which wasn't too bad, but wasn't too easy either. I had to use tweezers and a safety pin, but I got the job done. In hindsight...... That was either a redneck, or macguyver move....I haven't decided. Man I was one nervous pup worried about goofing up a strap that would be so expensive to replace.

Long story short watch is sized and Pics are on the way.

That's an AD who apparently doesn't want any future business from you!

If I was to guess just ticked they most likely didnt get any yet and was ticked off at that. From what I am being told they are next to imposible to get and Breitling is sold out of them with at least a 6-8 month back order.
