Hi people. I'm looking to purchase my first Breitling 8) and being a fan of big watches Ireally like the Super Avenger.

But I can't decide on the black dial or the white.

Black: Makes the watch look a bit more "sporty". The markers and Breitling logo stand out more and I like the contrast. But in some lights the dial look blue.

White: Looks more "blingy" as it seems to be more shiny. Would look good with a black croc strap imo

Anyone have either of these watches, could you post some wrist shots to help me decide please ;)

Thanks in advance

I'd go for the white dial. I like the black dial, but black dialed watches are more commonplace. If you decide to get another watch, it will likely have a black dial.

BlacK! I have the black dial baton marker SA, love it. I was in the same boat but the white on this SA is a dull white in my opinion, boring after a while. The black has a rich textured look to it and I never get tired of it. This watch looks great on a black rubber or leather strap as well. Take a look at them in person and you'll see what I mean!

Black on black subs is the best color combo hands down.. I guess that's why Breitling is constantly backordered!

Hi,

The white one is a very nice watch but i think in this case i prefer the black one.
The SA is a huge massive watch and with the white dial it is to much imho.
I vote for black

Thanks for your input guys.
I do prefer watches with black dials, to me they look more classy.
I did want to go for the black SA but having seen a lot of the pics online, the dial looks more navy blue to me than black and I wasn't sure if it'd go with a black croc strap which is what I'll be wearing it with.

Breitlingfanatic30: I'm really liking the first pic, you're right about the SA on rubber, it looks stunning!
Thing is, the dial on yours seems to be pure black, on alot of the other pictures of SA dials with Arabic numbers the dial looks more navy blue.

Is yours a special edition?

Anyone white faced ones out there?

The reason the dials look blue is the double sided anti-reflective coating. The blueish hue is typically much more pronounced in photographs than in person. Do yourself the favor of checking out the watch in person. My black dial Skyland looks black in person but a pic with typical lighting will make it appear somehwat blue.

Not sure about this, but I suppose the blue you will see in the AR coated crystal is becuase the AR absorbs all light except ulta violet which is reflected. Something like that anyway. I did poorly in science.

If this is your first big time watch, definitely go white. Classic, looks good with everything, and you will stand out from the masses. I have black dials that I love, but no guy should be without at least 1 white.

No special edition here, as sharkman said, it's the AR coating that "may" cause it to look blue in pics only but no way in person! This watch looks big no matter what and you'll see the difference in that dull white that the SA offers versus the textured look of the black dial SA.

I was in your same shoes not too long ago! My AD had all four styles in black and white availible for me to try. After lots of cell phone camera pics etc...etc... I went with white aribics. I liked the black aribics, but after looking at it alot, I decided the white subdials stood out too much for me and distracted from the clean look. But....thats just me? They all look good, I also thought the white dial was cleaner/easier to read when quickly looking at it?
