I'm lovin' my new big black Breitling Superocean Heritage. I thought I wanted the blue one til I saw them side-by-side. The simplicity of the design is really beautiful, and the details, like the hands, the 50s-era logo, the very basic texture of the coin-edge bezel, and the simple disk shape of the case give it some real old-school charm. But those big sharp racy lugs give it some real flair though...very fun. It looks and feels great on the mesh. Despite it being a dive watch, I think it dresses up real nice with that very clean, simple, minimalist-bezel, one-color design. It feels elegant...and maybe just a little bit bling.

The mesh may be just perfect for "Friday night", but doesn't always hit the spot for me...and I *really* like the way this watch looks on a jet-black diver pro ii strap. Besides the obvious color-match, the DPII is thick and substantial, and quite simple in its design, just like this watch. So I'm a little surprised that this strap isn't put out there by Breitling as Plan-A for this watch. For me...I think it's the best all-around option. A nice black leather strap would look super too, but I play tennis every day...so that just doesn't work for me.

This deployant clasp is fantastic. Once you've put it on, you can easily just squeeze the band into the clasp, where a tiny-toothed (not much more than 1/32"!) ratchet makes the smallest microadjustments a...well...a snap. Combined with the super-softness of the DPII rubber it makes it the whole thing super-comfortable.

And lastly...I'm enjoying the contrast between these two big fellas. One's kinda racy, curvy, modern, and sleek...the other's just big, bold, black, and (for now at least) shiny. :)

Love it! That's one great looking watch! You're tempting me to get one myself. I love it on both the mesh bracelet as well as the DPII. Great pick up and enjoy it!

Looks great! Any chance of seeing the pics of the pd II deployant from the other side, open, etc? Now that you smartened me up to them, I am seriously considering it!

much better with the diver pro II strap.
i really don't like it with the mesh bracelet, it seems too vintage... my opinion.

Congratulations on your SOH!

I have the same model, and love it on both the mesh bracelet and the rubber straps.

I also have the DPII on deployant, and have to agree that i also prefer that to the OR rubber.

Great pics as well, by the way.

Nick

Great pair in the last shot! I have almost exactly the same pair, except my PO has the black bezel.

The DP2 is awesome, and I love the deployant.

Awesome watch bud, I just sold mine to get the new 2010 superocean. I am having regrets selling the heritage, the good news is the Heritage sells for a affordable amount used :D

I agree with your assesment on the Ocean Classic mesh - it dresses up the watch nicely.

I have the Diver Pro II and Ocean Racer, both on deployment. Originally I was all DP II, but lately I prefer the Ocean Racer, especially on the Chronograph version. Though it's true the DP II is just a bit more comfortable than the Ocean Racer. Can't go wrong with either one..

These days the 46 sits on mesh and the chrono on rubber in my collection. Of course, that could cahnge any moment. :?
