So I have an Avenger M1 which I haven't used for the last 2 (if not more) years and I wanted to replace the battery and I took it to the local shop which services Omega.

They said that the gaskets need replacing and also that they'd need to fix the mechanism, because the chronograph reset button doesn't work. The total estimate for parts (gaskets/seals) and the service was about $400. They don't see many Breitlings a year tho and I'd like to get a second quote/opinion -- can anyone suggest any decent service in North-West Washington (Seattle/Tacoma all the way up to Canadian border) area?

It's a pretty old watch which doesn't see much use (well, definitely not as a divers watch anyways) and I'm on the budget -- I'd like to ensure it works next few years, not a lifetime. I'll deal with an overhaul in a few years.

thanks!

If the movement needs fixing, then you really have no option other than to send it to Breitling for repairs.

Additionally, given the water resistance rating of the M1 I'd personally be unwilling to trust a resealing job to anyone else, as few places will be able to adequately pressure test it.

it hapened the same to my M1, leave the chrono running for 24h then try to reset, that problem happened to me and that fixed it, in the other day stoped and reset and all worked, never hapened again, meanwhile went to service in end of 2009. but try this maybe it will work for you

So how much would BUSA charge if it was just the battery and gaskets/seals?
