Well my collection has expanded as of late, and my Wolf winder and Heroic18 box was not enough any more. I had posted a video earlier that featured the Heroic box and allot of you complemented it, it was a fantastic box! Great quality, wood grain, and had an excellent lower compartment for extra straps, tools, etc. I decided to sell it and get the larger version. Alas they had stopped making them.

After some searching I had found an acceptable alternative. Allot of thought went into this decision, I think the quality of the box is important, I love opening up my watch box and being visually blown away with a selection of fine time pieces! takes me back to my younger days when i used to visit my uncle and he would bring down his own 24 watch box filled Rolex, Patek, Jaeger, and A Lange watches! I would oogle them for an hour and not get bored...what a treasure!

Anyway, i found this custom made box, on the positive side it was as well made as the Heroic, the grain of the wood is excellent as well! The leather interior is excellent, I like black boxes as they let whats inside stand out! The button that releases the latch is nice though it doesn't feel very smooth.

The biggest downside is the lack of an under compartment, so I have to find another arrangement for my straps. Perhaps I will convert one of my old humidors.

All is all very happy with the box!

Anyway, down to the pics:

Now that I have tried this box, I think I might get another one and let my wolf winder go. I just dont need the winding functionality as I enjoy setting the time and winding up my watches.

That does look very nice Altair, and I can understand that it's a pleasant sight to see those of a morning.

Very nice Altair! You sure ONE more is going to be enough?
That white dialed AP looks a little lonely among all those black dials, may have to work on that!
I am looking for a 4 to 5 capacity box with lower drawer myself, they can be hard to find.

Hey Altair, did you get that from Rainer in Germany? If not it looks very similar. Nice that it's got a real leather lining too, as most seem to make do with PU.

By the way, having a nice box like that only accentuates what a fantastic collection you have............. AND that's only part of it!

That is certainly a brilliantly diverse collection. What's not to like!

Very glad that you found a suitable watch box, it looks fantastic and stores your treasures well. What a pleasure to open in the morning!

That looks brilliant Altair! Both the box itself and its content. You're lucky searching for a wooden box, even though it's still a search for the right one it's at least feasible compared to search for a custom leather box. But as other's said, one can't be enough right? ;) There are some watches I don't see in that first box...

Yup driver this one is from Rainer, I can recommend him based on his use of materials.
