Are those Breitlings fake? (I'm being serious)

They look real, the prices seem about right (for small, 50's Breitlings), and the seller has good feedback. And, did they even make fake watches in that era? The only thing shady about them is they're coming from China...

The top two are fakes, the bottom one is a correctly branded Chinese one.

For some time, it seemed to me that the steady stream of time-only watches coming from Asia were just too common: the dials were re-painted the same (marginal quality), the serial dates all seem to be 1956, and the reference number one of only a couple of variations. All the other markings seemed authentic. It made me think that there was someone using an example for a reference. Reverse engineering.

That seems very different than the South Americans, who are clearly using Richter as a reference for models and reference numbers. They do a scary-good job lining up a watch with a close match to a Breitling model. Every Bidyator is vulnerable, as are lesser reputed chronographs. Wholesale re-badging.

I don't want to single out a country or region of origin for this fraud, because it's happening everywhere, but to a greater or lesser extent. Excessive cynicism.

And it's spreading - South American watches are now appearing from sellers in Florida and Spain commonly although they are clearly the same watches that were previously seen from the usual SA sources.

Totally agree Roff. The chinese and even worse, the south american fakes are spreading. Portugal, France... they are turning up everywhere. They usually have 29xx ref numbers. Nowadays you cant trust any "17 jewels" models anymore.

By the way..I was amazed by your "correctly branded chinese Breitling" Did they sell to China under that brand ? Or ...
I'm very interested in that !

Didn't mean to imply Chinese Breitling - Chinese watch. Not a breitling for sure.
