Thanks for the comments guys. I have to say I am very happy with where the collection is but I think I need to do a few tweaks  namely selling my TT Chronomat and Railmaster, and adding a Navitimer (probably a World, though maybe a 125e) and picking up the new Patek Nautilus annual calendar, what a watch!!! Probably will pick up a black themes one of these days too on bracelet. But nothing for the next few years! (who am I kidding  )

That is one great collection Altair. I own one piece that you have (and soon to pick up another), but I'd like to own a good 4 others that you have!!! Namely the AP, the JLC, the BI and the SDDS.

Great choices there Driver! All amazing watches and keepers in my book. The JLC is unique, finely finished, functional, and lively. The SDDS is just a monster of a watch with that built like a tank feel and yet looks beutifull at the same time, finest watch Rolex ever made IMO. Now the AP is just a near perfect watch, you can refer to my orgasmic review for more

As for the BI, as much as I had initially thought it was akin to the BP, I have to say they are completely different watches! Sure they have the same exact movement and very similar dial layout, but the cases, indices, hands, and dials are completely different and when on bracelet, the BI really gives a very unique IWC flavour to the collection. Plus the brushed work on the bracelet matches that on the case very nicely I must say! Gorgeous combo. I had done that picture with the BI and BP next to eachother specifically for the purpose of showing how different they really are.

But I have to say, I am a little surprised you had not listed the 233 or 311 :wowzers

It doesnt matter how many watches I own, the 233 is always my favorite and will always remain as such!!! My favorite watch of all time!!!!

 Oh they are both amazing pieces Altair, no doubt about that at all. But for me, my favourite Panerai's are the 312 (for the in-house automatic movement, the simplicity of the dial, and the price), and the 270 (again for the in-house automatic movement, the "true" 1950's crystal, and the frankly awesome 10 day PR). Yeah I know the Paneristi get all hot under the collar about non-manual-wind Pannies, but I guess I'm not a real Paneristi!

Instead of the 311, I personally prefer the 275 as it's steel not ti, or if money was no object then I'd have a 317. Just personally choices I guess.......

Oh and while I think about it - a Patek Nautilus annual calendar? Looking forward to the reviews of that one!

Your collection really is starting to look like a "who's who" of watchmaking. Fantastic stuff!

The reason I was surprised is that I really can see how a PAM would add to your collection, I guess I am biased regarding the models. To me the 233 is so much more desirable than a 270 I just assume everyone feels the same

As for the 311 VS the 275, I get what you mean as I used to have the same issue with Titanium. That is untill i actually saw the watches. breitling is at fault I suppouse as their treatment of Ti is not to my liking, their watches have something of a pure tool feel whearas JLC and Panerai take the material to a Jewlery grade level (they use grade 5) and it is finished to such a level it is different yet beutifull at the same time.

As for the PAM 311, take a look at my earlier pics, most people cant tell the difference straight up because of the finish level and because it has a steel bezel, which adds allot of contrast and character. To me the biggest issue with using Ti is the weight issue, if the watch is midsized it can feel like a light weight, but since this watch is only partially ti, had a much thicker case, and a larger movement, the balance is just about perfect and it has that wonderfully unique look that I enjoy!

Sounds like I need to check out some Panerai/JLC ti models pretty soon as I've never handled an all ti model by either of them. I've handled a JLC Extreme World Chronograph (which is partially ti) and it was frankly amazing, so I'm prepared to be won over, but the lightness of all (or majority) ti models has always been an issue for me.

I have absolutely no doubt that a Panerai will come along for me in due course....... but which to choose! I guess a lot will depend on the size of my next work bonus!

That's the new high end spring drive Annata. Not an inexpensive watch there.
