That's about the way I feel about the 2010 Rolex models. On the other hand the new superocean looks good, and in the Bentley's the supersports looks good.

It's not just you, a lot of the newly introduced stuff is also failing to "get" me. Some of their models that have been out a while are looking more and more timeless and desirable.

Besides the New Wave SO, that is.... I just realized I wax philosophical about that watch virtually every time I post. I'm really gonna have to get one!

I feel exactly the same, the older ones which were THE tool watches of the time are looking cooler and cooler, but the latest ones are looking more and more blingy ? What do other guys think ?

Sounds to me like you just fell and got cought!

I was at an AD:s event two weeks ago and got to see most in the metal.

I like alot of the new stuff. The New Wave SO is a very nice sporty piece. The Chronospace was a great surprice, as I didn´t give it a second glance in the first pics, but live, it really looked the business. The rubber bezel looked much better on the Skyracer then I expected. The Avenger code yellow looked good too. First I thought it had too subtle differences to the Avenger, but the yellow highlights really suited it well. The B01:s brushed bezel was much more understated compared to the original (though I´m more of a fan of the polished one). Unfortunetaly I didn´t see the new Benltey´s, but the Supersport looks superb on pics. The Galactics looked only OK. The problem was that they pale beside the B01:s where they were standing.

The Blacksteels are sort of getting old, but I looked at other brands too and there are many black models out there, so maybe there is a demand for them. That´s ofcourse just good business to satisfy an existing demand. I´ve critisized the Colt Gmt+ befor from the pics, but that too made more sense live. I did miss the slanted links which is one of my favourite features, but it did look good for the price.

All and all, things are quite well with the new line up in my book. :lingsrock:

I don't care for the new Superocean, for a number of reasons. Somebody that wants a watch with a blue, orange, or yellow dial isn't going to be satisfied with just a little ring of that color. They're gonna get something else, either an Avenger, or a different brand alltogether. Are they gonna get more color combos eventually? Also, I don't like the bezel. Why doesn't it have minute marks?

As for the non-rider tab models, hmm... The lack of rider tabs isn't a killer, as I still thing the bezel looks Breitling-ish. Some people seem to think it's a vast departure from the Breitling look, which I think is a little silly. I might go so far as to say the no-rider tab is more dressy, so that might be a good choice for the Windriders. I don't like that damn font, though. Don't know what's up with that. Change the font.

I hope they don't get rid of the rider tabs all together, though. Rider-tabbed watches are a Breitling staple now, just like the classic Navitimer look. Rider tabs are an iconic watch design. They can't get rid of all the rider tabs, can they? Keep the rider tabs on the Professionals and Aeromarines.

EDIT: Typos.

Its the same thing every time, they make adjustments to the collection:

First time I look at it, I ask my self, why the hell are they changing a winning team?

When I look at them for the second time, I always think: You have to move on, present something new, evolve, be ahead of the others... It will work out...

When I look at the watches for the fifth time, I really love them and ask myself, why the hell didn't they change them already last year?

Sometimes I am just too conservative. :lingsrock:

I appear to be stuck in a moment and I'm quite happy with it.

Sorry to say the 'Brand seems to be moving past me'

Certainly nothing this year really stood out for me in the 2010 range. I've got past the disappointment of there being nothing radically new, and I now can accept the current models for what they are - vaguely evolutionary if not revolutionary. OK, the new SO is probably the most radical change, but I just don't like it I'm afraid.

That said, I like the Chronospace (although not enough to buy, unless they make a Reno version which would be cool), and I like the look of the Blacksteel Seawolf Chrono (although again, probably not enough to buy as I dislike surface coatings).

The only model from recent years that I've finally really started to warm up to is the Chronomat B01! Having one in my sweaty hands for a while the other month really made me appreciate it far more than I ever thought possible.

I like the new Chronospace too, even though it'd probably be too large for me. I haven't got a chance to try one on.
