I can get 20% at one AD and 25% at the other. Guess which one I go to?? Technically BUSA doesn't want them to reduce beyond a certain point, but BUSA doesn't follow up on sales docs once the AD makes the sale. But a bunch of US ADs had their Breitling ticket pulled by BUSA for excessive discounting in 2009.

Ocean racer, deployment, blue...yellow...blue...yellow... THIS is EXACTLY why I don't but Technomarines! :?

Congrats! That is one nice timepiece!

Enjoy it! (I'm also considering the Superocean with blue... nice choice!)

Retail was $2585 plus $160 for the standard black leather band and 7% sales tax.....I paid $2250 all in, which amounts to about a 25% discount.

Is it confirmed that the retail price for this watch is $2585?

Which strap did that price include?

Thanks!

Great watch and great deal. Just for future reference there is a dealer in NJ that only charges 3.5% tax; Urban Development Areas qualify for the discounted tax rate.

confirmed. The $2585 is for the watch, no strap. Strap is extra and depends on which one you get. I left the store with the basic black leather strap, no deployment, which was an additional $160 (so total of $2745 before tax and discount). I also ordered the blue rubber with deployment, which is another $240 I think......but yes, the confirmed retail price for the watch without a band is $2585.

Thanks for the numbers. I'm going to call Breitling tomorrow and order the this new Superocean in black with the bracelet and probably also buy the ocean racer strap too. That transition makes it go from dressy to sporty with a simple band change.

Does anyone know what the lug width is for the new Superocean?

I'd like to also buy the Ocean Racer strap that I can use on an Aerospace in the future. It would be great if it fits on both.

Have ordered a chrono colt on Pro II for less then "gray market" prices. If everything goes ok with my watch purchase, i will give you the direct mail for contact .

p.s.

If you to impatient to wait, give me the model numbers of the watches you are interested in,and i will ask them on the phone.

Hi

Here is a new question regarding sales tax and discounting.

I am being quoted prices + sales tax in Miami, I am going there on a holiday in two weeks.

So, can I claim the tax back before I leave for Norway again with my new watch? The sales
tax kind of eliminates the sales tax as you might understand. Does every state in America
have the same sales tax?

Excuse me for the ignorant questions :)

Not every state has the same sales tax rate. Some states do not have any sales tax.

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon are the only US states without sales tax. In the mjority thatdo impose sales tax, the % varies cinsiderably.

I think sales tax in Miami is 7% or so. It is not included in the price like in Europe, so it is added onto the price that you pay for the item. AFAIK, you are not able to claim the money back when leaving the US. Keep in mind, that when you leave the US, you are supposed to declare the items that you purchased so that you can be charged the appropriate duties from your own country as well. Obviously, the percentage of people who actually declare valuables is probably pretty low though (not that that makes is legal, of course :popo: ).

Side note: If you purchase from out of state, you do not pay any sales tax. So, if you were to order from an out of state dealer and have the item shipped to wherever you are staying in Florida, you would have a tax free watch.
