its suppose to be from 1945...

Do you think it is authentic and do you think it is real?

I think, its real, a very late one pusher chronograph with calibre Landeron/Hahn

I'd like to see a better photo of the logo on the dial.

The watch may be a Breitling, I'm not as confident as Michael (and I'm 99% sure that you are Michael alexmedwejew so prepare to be unable to logon soon!), and don't trust that opinion.

I am fairly convinced that the bridge and caseback engraving is fake - I wouldn't expect either to have engraving and it looks poor quality. Would be interested in some thoughts from other experts on this one.

For a Breitling of this vintage I would be more comfortable with an unsigned bridge and/or caseback. Heck, with a movement that old I would be more enthusiastic about a Montbrillant signed watch. IMHO, your opinion may vary.

Norbert/Michael/Herbert/Alex is not a good judge of what is honest and true.

Richter describes a 701/2 as "hand wound, round case, square buttons, 30-minute counter, various scales" and he is describing the watch appearing from the 1937 catalog page he shows on his page 29 (using Breitling: The Book for the correct dating of the catalog).

A 701 appears as a one-pusher chronograph. Either version seems to be a pre-1940 watch, and the one you are showing is dated 1945. I would expect some model 701 would be in the 1946 catalog, but it does not appear.

That dial looks freshly painted, the inside caseback does not look at all authentic, especially the signature for either the late 1930s or 1940s, and the case looks freshly gilded. I think there is a very small chance that this watch was ever near the Breitling workshops.

It is a very sharp-looking watch, and I think we have to come to terms with the fact that skilled fraudsters are using Richter and other reference materials to make credible fake Breitlings. We have to use our reference materials and stay on our toes. Do not do your research on the internet. There are unscrupulous sellers peddling all sorts of twaddle.

Hi, i attached a couple more larger photos. i bought the watch on ebay, from a seller by the name argsport. i guess i should of done this research ahead of time. i paid 1250. the guy is from argentina (I know, I know).

The market has offered it's opinion if you only paid $1,250 for it.

As you know the Argentina connection is also a pretty certain kiss of death.

The larger dial shot convinces me that it's a redial.

My money says it wasn't originally gold plated either. Gold plating seems to be more common than plating in chrome so not everyone learns to do chrome plating thus easier just to redo a badly peeling case in gold.

Hello, on the reference 701/2, book Beno Richter says this reference carries a venus 165 caliber movement,
with counter 30 minutes and two square buttons.
Clearly see that the caliber of the clock in the photo is not a 165.
