I typically run my chrono most of the day - I like to start it precisely when the small seconds hit 30 so the two hands are in reverse synchronization... anal, I know....

On the topic of whether or not running it constantly is smart, I actually found an interesting situation on one of my vintage watches, a 17-jewel Lanco chronograph with a Landeron 248 movement in it. I wound it up and started the chronograph and left it in the watch box. The Landeron 248 has a horizontal clutch mechanism that seems to be a little touchy. The power reserve in the watch ran out, and I foolishly reset the chrono without winding it first. This has caused a rather significant "jump" backwards (about 5 seconds) when starting the chrono from zero. It still keeps proper time and resets to zero, but when starting it from 0, the second hand moves back to about 55 before kicking over. Fortunately it was recently overhauled and still carries a warranty on the work, so back to the watchmaker it goes. But ultimately, I will remember not to let a watch wind completely down with the chronograph running again.

Daily. If I'm not wearing my chrono, I use my diving bezel. I use it for all sorts of things, like:
  • Timing a workout
  • Cooking my food
  • Seeing how long it takes my food to cook at a restaurant
  • Figuring out whether or not it's actually a minute when my girlfriend says, "Come look at this for a minute"

Used it yesterday at rehearsal timing songs so as to get my band's set within the limits we've been given for a charity gig on Sunday. Normally, we just keep playing until the place shuts but for this one we've been given a fixed time slot.

Couldn't live without one!

Hi All!

I use the Chronograph almost every day for many of the silly reasons enumerated in the thread!

Example when waiting for her, parking meter, cooking, but mostly when waiting for her - LMAO!

Best Regards,

Enezdez

That settles it, I'm definitely getting a chrono. Maybe the new Avenger Skyland. Is it still called the Avenger Skyland or just the Avenger?

Hi All!

Not trying to hijack the thread but I have been curious about this for a very long time - how does one use a diving bezel - example my Seawolf?

Thanks for your prompt responses in advance!

Best Regards,

Enezdez

I'm guessing that you would set the arrow at the 12 o'clock position to where the minute hand is when you want to start timing something. Then when you're done timing whatever it is you check where the minute hand is in accordance with the minutes on the bezel. I always wondered why the bezel turned on my TAG, never realized why until I started reading this forum. But then again I could be completely wrong.

Correct.

You turn the 12 o'clock marker to the current time (minute) at the start of the dive and then you can see how long you have been under water for just by looking at the bezel mark that aligns with the current minute hand location.
