A guy I work with noticed my Navitimer the other day and said his girlfriend used to work at a local Breitling dealer and reeled off the list of watches she was given whilst she was there. He was probably in his early thirties so unless he goes for the older woman ( ) it seems the sales people get lavished on pretty nicely!

I've found a few cranky salespeople, mainly in the UK and at larger chains like Goldsmiths. As an occasional scruffy University student I was usually given the 'are you aware you are near expensive watches that are out of your price range' look. Even when I made it clear I knew what I was looking for by saying something like, 'I was browsing through Chronolog and thought I'd take a look at a Navitimer Olympus' I'd get the pissed off look like I'm bothering them!

I'm sorry, but I feel these are very inappropiate statements, and I don't see why this was relevant to this topic. I am a strong believer you should keep politics out of forums like this one. I'm sure there are enough places on the web where you can complain about this type of issues.
Let's stick to watches here, shall we?[/size]

I've also had some issues with GOLDSMITHS in the UK. I went in recently to get a new bracelet for my Colt. I asked several times and eventually the sales woman dragged herself away from her conversation with her colleague. When I told her what I was after she said "are you sure, you know they're expensive" (this pissed me off!!)

I persevered and asked to try on a watch with the bracelet already attached, she sighed and said "are you really planning on buying today?" as if she would only let me see it if I was! I lost my nerve and let rip and told her that "she was a jumped up b**ch with a superiority complex" and left. I will never go back except to ask for the manager and complain!

I know this sounds like i was maybe unfair but anyone who has been treated like this will tell you how infuriating it is and this was the last straw after having been treated badly on several previous occasions!! It is the way they looked at me with disgust just because I am young!
