Ok, this is my watch. It belonged to my brother in law. It sat in a drawer for 34 years after he died,I got it two years ago.

I know little or nothing about it,I have tried to find out about it but have not come up with much.

I would appreciate anything-everything that you can tell me about it.

I would also like to have some idea as to what it might be worth. I wont ever sell it but I need to put it on the insurance.

Thanks.

Mike.

edit,

Sorry, the pictures have come out quite large, I will make them smaller in future.

Oh yes, I have now put on a proper black Breitling strap.

It's a mid to late 60s 808, the outer slide rule / chapter ring is damaged - the numbers should go all the way around the dial.

I'd like to see the inside of the caseback and movement photos before commenting on value.

I never noticed the damage. When I got it I had it serviced, the guy put on a new glass, could this have caused the damaged ? The watch was hardly ever used before I got it.

New crystal wouldn't damage it, it looks like it's torn / missing. If the chapter ring is complete then it's non original.

That is odd. Your damage is more pronounced - it looks like fading. I've never seen it before, but maybe I just never noticed.

That's the source of the WUS picture with the faded chapter ring. Alan has that one as a 67, which is consistent with the look of the OPs, but I can't believe that the 'missing' numbers are original.
