Just thought I'd share my vintage Chronomat 808. It's the gold filled model and is in virtually new condition. This watch was a gift to my father when he got his PhD in the early 1960's. The watch sat basically unworn in a safe for nearly 50 years until I got my hands on it. The most fascinating thing about this watch is the fact that the entire original AD package accompanies it - the inner bakelite and outer cardboard boxes, unsigned warranty card, world service pamphlet, user manuals, marketing brochures, and even the cardboard slide rule trainer with its outer sleeve.

The watch is running great and keeps fantastic time, but I almost never wind it - after so many years I want to have it serviced first.

This watch is what originally indoctrinated me into the Breitling family, and I am proud to own a titanium Chrono Avenger as well. I also have my eyes on a new 2010 Superocean.

I hope you enjoy the pictures! I have some new photo equipment on the way that should allow me to get better ones in the future.

Very nice, and very rare to find the complete set together. You are a lucky man.

Its hard to believe how much this resembles a Navi.

Thanks all for the kind words! I only wish it was the Stainless model, because gold is very much not my style, and she sees virtually no wrist time as a result.

Probably the best example of an 808 I've seen yet... definitely can't get any better than that...

I'm a stainless steel guy too but that gold just glistens~! beautiful~!

Not big into the vintage myself but check the posts! Definently the nicest vintage watch I've seen. :lingsrock:

Cheers

That is a LOVELY watch. The lugs are poetry; so slender. What an inheritance!
