I'm thinking of getting a new watch with a leather band and a 39 mm case. Any suggestions?

If your are talking dressy, I think there are a couple of very nice Longines you should check out.

There are a ton of choices, but if bang for the buck is a concern, the Longines Master Collection line of watches are in a league of their own. Something like this can be found for under 2k brand new (40mm):

Or something a bit simpler (38.5mm) for about $1500.
