Ok so it's my birthday in 4 days and my wife bought me a Brown Leather Strap for my CSO. I really wanted this and i'm really happy about it.

A FEW things are making me really unhappy about that transaction though...

1. MSRP is 160 $. My wife got it for 150$ tax in. (taxes are 13.5 % in Quebec province). It's about 17% off and i expect more than this from this particular AD. I went and bought a diver pro strap there a few months ago and they gave me about 35%. I don't want to make a huge deal out of this one because the AD did give my wife a rebate, which is nice, although i feel that if i was there myself in person they would have give me more. I consider that they really used the lack of knowledge towards watches of my wife to give her a so called "good deal". Don't get me wrong, it's already good that my wife discovered that i needed a 20-18 strap by herself. :poke:

2. There are 2 stains that looks like they are made from some kind of oil on the 80mm part of the strap (picture below). This product is brand new and there should not be any stain. I understand that the inside of the strap WILL be stained in a matter of weeks or months, but hey, let me do them!!

3. This one bothers me the most, even more than the stains. The lady at the AD, which i know and dealt with before, didn't even bother telling my wife that i would need something to attach that strap together around my wrist, hence, a Tang Buckle or a Deployment Clasp!!!

So i opened the real nice strap box they gave my wife to put the strap in (one point for them) and there, a nice brown calf strap with nothing to attach it to my wrist in need of attention!!! :guns: :guns: :guns:

I'm really pissed and i hope to get any comments on this. Regardless, i'm heading towards the AD at opening time with all the calmness i can bring with me.

Cheers.

Sorry it's the best i could do with my iPhone tonight...

The stain would be an issue for me, and the AD should ask whether the buyer wants tang or deployant (as the straps are different). I would expect them to ask whether a buckle was required, but not automatically assume that it was - a buckle will last for multiple straps.

In terms of discount, well if she didn't know that your wife was your wife then that's not a bad discount for a walk in buyer on a strap.

The AD paid $88 for the strap and sold it to your wife for $132 (with taxes out). That's $44 for all of the overhead costs - not bad in my opinion.

Update:

So i went to the AD. She accepted to replace the strap without questions and apologized for selling a stained strap to my wife. I also mentioned that they should at least asked my wife what kind of strap she wanted, deployment or tang buckle, that would have raised some questions on her part. The lady at the AD told me she felt kind of stupid for that.

Anyways, i change the order and now i have the strap with deployment coming. She gave me a nice price to apologies.

Did you end up bringing up the discount topic? Roff made two good points. Only $44 was made and also did they know your wife was your wife? But Im still on your side as they should have kept consistent with what you have always been given.
