I am definitely no stranger to the forums but this is my first post. I kind of wanted to make a grand entrance with pictures of my new Olympus, but George over at Govberg is still waiting on Breitling USA. For as long as I could remember I've always wanted a Breitling, didn't matter so as long as it was a Navitimer. In fact, when I was younger I thought that's all that Breitling made, so it is by far my favorite collection.

After careful consideration and viewing many, many, and even more watches, I decided I should buy the Olympus. Due to my drooling over the complications I think I might have overlooked a pretty important detail, the size of my wrist. Now I personally love the contrast the brown leather strap provides with the polished case. I also realize that it would be no big deal if I wanted to change over to the stainless steel bracelet, adding links is always possible. I'm just worried that the leather bracelet is not going to fit my wrist and I'm stuck ordering the stainless steel bracelet. I've measured my wrist by simply wrapping a tape measure around it and it looks to be like 7 1/2 inches, but I was pulling it a bit tight. I've tried to search and couldn't find much information on the size but I might have seen something about 7 3/8 inches. However I do not know if that was the maximum size of wrist or the size of the strap. Would anyone know what size wrist would be the max, and if I'm right on the boarder will it be a problem with the leather being unworn? Also, what are some of your opinions as to how big the watch might wear? I got it with a white face on black outer with the brown leather strap and deployment clasp. Any and all feedback is much appreciated and a warm greetings to the community!

My wrist is a shade under 6.75" and I use the smallest or second to smallest hole on the standard strap on a regular navi. There is 1.25" from the smallest hole to the largest, so 7.5" should be okay. Worst case scenario: You order an extra long strap; they carry a $50 premium over the standard size.

Don't worry, the strap will fit you just fine. Your wrist is not exceptionally thick, some Breitling owners have wrists exceeding 8 inches.

As for the watch size, it's on the smaller side with only 42mm. On your wrist it will look just fine, and will be very comfortable. In fact, 42mm looks and wears fine for almost any wrist size, it's the size "sweet spot" for a lot of us.

As for getting second thoughts about your purchase... I can only tell you, it happened to me once, right after I bought my first Omega (Planet Ocean) as an impulse buy. I thought the orange bezel was the wrong choice, and I generally didn't like the watch looking at it in its box, than on pictures. I got back on track right at the point when I strapped it on my wrist. I'm sure you'll start your "love affair" with the Olympus the first time you put it on your wrist

Much appreciated! I just received the final call from George at Govberg and the watch is on its way and will be here tomorrow. I just hope that the strap will fit a wrist 8 inches or bigger. I would hate to be right at the edge of not fitting and if the strap is indeed 7.50 inches as stated by RJRJRJ, I think I am out of luck. Ah well, will find out tomorrow and if it fits expect some pics xD Thanks again guys!

I think my measurements put it closer to 8".

I'm sure that you'll be fine.

The strap length totals 200mm (110mm on the long side, 90mm on the short side). I know that there is overlap, but that's 8" plus the watch diameter.

Thanks Roffensian, that is the information I have been searching for. When I had looked I saw something similar to that and wasn't sure if it was including the watch diameter or not. My mind is at ease now and I am looking forward to being able to finally wear my long awaited purchase. I will include pictures when I get home tomorrow and thanks for the help guys! Till tomorrow...

Justin! How's it going? I wanted to thank you and George for everything as it all could not have gone better. I plan to write up a small post about my first, and most certainly not last, watch purchase and give credit where its due.

Here are some of the unboxing pictures, unfortunately the only lens I had with me was a telephoto so it was really hard to get a good wrist shot.

Bracelet fits perfectly and is much better quality than I had expected. The whole setup exudes manufacturing excellence and I could not be happier. A big thanks goes out to Justin and George for making my first purchase become just one of many, and this excellent community for helping me along with my decision. Thanks everyone!

Fantastic time piece, wear it in good health :cheer:

When you have a chance, please shoot some close-ups (macro) and wrist shots as well.
