Guys - just thought I'd give you a heads up as I know a few of you are having trouble finding a single 1.8mm Bergeon screwdriver (i.e. the perfect size for Breitling bracelets). Believe me they are very hard to come by as singles. Well there's a guy in Germany with two left -

I'm not affliated with this seller in any way - just thought I'd do you favour. :D

Really? I can drive over to Otto Frei and pick one up at any time. I was just there the other day and they had plenty. If someone in the US wants one I'd be willing to do it at cost.

They don't sell the 1.80 separately as far as I know - certainly not on their website (goes from 1.6 - 2.0).

I can ask Bob next time I'm there. I think they had them. It's a bit of a weird place.

Plenty of 1.80mm's? Hmmmm looks like I wasted my time posting this then..... although to be honest I've not seen any single 1.80mm Bergeons for ages.

Stopped by on the way back from lunch. They are out now, but they can order as many as you want. Takes about 3 weeks. $12.50 each.

I have the 1.6mm and used it to size the bracelet on my steelfish, chronomot and Navi World, no problems, worked great.

The 1.8mm is the exact size, but the 1.6mm is the next best option and will work fine.

A guy at WUS (I think) had a great tip of using dental floss to remove spring bars if your strap's too tight to fit the bergeon tool effectively.

Different tool.

I started recommending the 160 (1.6mm) instead of the 180 (1.8mm) as they seem to be the ones that are easier to find - Otto Frei being a case in point - in stock vs. 3 week order.

They are close enough to work fine.

Or alternatively, going back to the top post by my good self, if anyone wants to avoid a 3 week wait, then that guy in Germany has 2 for sale right now! (Which was kind of the point of it anyway!)

I've used several sizes - whatever I happen to pull out of the carosel. Do the Bergeron blades hold up better than most??

Well, if anyone in the US wants one, let me know and I'll arrange to get some from Otto Frei.

Bergeon is the best quality - not just the blades, also the shaft and bearing. Of course when hte blade needs redressing then the best blades can be ruined if a chimp is doing the dressing

Horotec are also pretty good quality.
