Hi guys. I will be departing for Cancun, Mexico with my gf in June and I need a good ocean/travel/beach watch to take along. I will never take it off. Here are my things the watch has to have....

-$500 ish (USD)
-Grey Rubber Strap
-Grey/Silver/White Face
-Lare Size

This is the watch I am really after. Invicta model number 5285. I really would like the version with the grey dial as all my other watches have white/silver dials.

If anyone has any other watches that have the double grey combination please let me know. I like grey b/c it goes with everything.

I will be leaving in just a few weeks so the faster the better!! Thanks guys!

Forgot to add....I cna find the watch with the deployment clasp and grey dial on other sites other than shopnbc.com but dont know if they are authorized dealers or not. Would you trust them to be authentic etc?

Also help me decide shopnbc.com still has the watch in stock with the white dial instead of the grey dial i just cant decide. the white hands against the grey dial look kind of cheap I think do u? But the white dial doesnt look as nice as the grey (the grey would be something different for me) Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks so much!

One last thing, for safety while swimming snorkling etc would u trust the regular tang buckle more than the deploy? I have read some reviews that the deploy keeps popping open on the invicta akula.

Can't really help you with Invictas at all so I would't know if the deployant is any good or not. I've also not heard of shopnbc.com, but you could always buy it from Amazon instead -

Ya I saw that listing. My thing is is amazon really an AD? Because on the right hand side it says its sold by like an online watch company of some sort. Also Driver what do you think of the white vs. grey dial. The white dial is actually model number 5286? Any other watches you can think of with the double grey look? Do you think no matter what kind of deploy is used a tang buckle is still going to be safer?

Thanks for your help!

I will be going to mexico in july. personnaly, i will bring my SA and i just bought a Oris Titan Chrono to bring for diving.
so, i'll be wearing mostly my SA, but will switch to the Oris when going diving.

i would prefer to spend 1000$ on a Oris than 500$ on an Invicta.

:yeahthat

I know we're talking double the money here, but I see more than double the value in the Oris. If the $500 budget is the absolute max, id just buy something used. Not a big fan of Invicta.

EDIT: BTW, I wouldnt worry about whether the Invicta is from an AD or not. Read up on them and youll see that their customer service is legendary...in a BAD way.

If you're collecting votes, a second for this idea.

If the Monster isn't your thing then another very strong vote for Oris. Definitely worth $1,000 or so.

Thanks guys! I completely agree tht Invicta isnt really a watch company they must have about 7000000000 different models. However, the watch fits the build of greay rubber band. I just cant find another watch with grey rubber. And actually the watch would only be about 350 USD. I will take a look at deep blue again. I have owned an Oris in the past. Sold it on here actually I think. I liked it but dont want another blue or black face. I like light colored dials.
