Like any watch it has it's fans and it has it's "non-fans" but personally I love the Deepsea and plan to get one myself. It's the best watch Rolex have ever made IMHO. Looking at your collection of great Breitlings, perhaps it's time for something different in your collection..... and you could do a lot worse than the Deepsea. :D But ultimately only you can decide.

I like the pics, and I like it in person, but the skinny little bracelet might be a deal breaker for me. It looks really awkward imo.

:yeahthat

I just tried one on a few days ago and had the same thought, I liked the watch but the skinny bracelet didn't seem to quite suit it and looked a bit "off" IMO, but that's just my opinion. On the plus side, I thought the clasp was great, wish Breitling would come up with something similiar.

People who haven't worn one for a week always say that about the DSSD bracelet. Personally, I've gotten used to it. I think I'd prefer a wider one, but I find the current one pretty comfy.

being a breitling fan i must say that the deepsea dweller is one of the few rolex that i could consider, mostly because of the good size comparing to other rolex
the only rolex that i like is the dweller and the daytona in some variations.

I don't like Rolex, and don't think that I'll ever buy one if they don't come up with something distinctly different. However, the SDDS is a watch that I have very seriously considered - in fact I had a chance to buy one earlier this year and had a tough time deciding not to - as Driver8 says it's one of the best watches that Rolex have ever produced.

I think that it's healthy to expand a collection beyond a single brand.

not a Rolex fan. I think they are overmarketed and overrated.

Buy something cool like a Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine diver!

Nothing at all wrong with expanding into different brands, and the Deepsea is a great watch.

I looked at one about a week ago but the bracelet is a deal breaker for me too. I know that by all accounts it wears very comfortably, but to me it looks completely out of proportion. Matter of personal taste, if you like it I say go for it.

I've not been able to wear one for very long, but I found I got used to the bracelet pretty quickly even in the AD. I think we are so used to Breitling's nice and wise straps so anything other than that looks odd. Perhaps I was more accepting of it after wearing my Big Pilot which has a very narrow strap in proportion to the head.

The "ORIGINAL GAS ESCAPE VALVE" and "RING LOCK SYSTEM" seem unecessary, but overall I like the Deepsea.

When I first heard about the Deepsea, I was puzzled about the depth rating. 3,900 meters? What is that? Why not just 4,000? Then it occured to me that 12,800 feet is quite close to the depth of the Titanic wreck (as I have an interest in such things). I thought I had it figured out: The Titanic was going to play some role in the Deepsea's marketing. Nope, wrong.

The bracelet on the DeepSea looks way out of place , But by being not so wide it does allow some what better comfort on wrist movement Why not just 4,000 Meters ? I have been told somewhere in the world where Rolex have lots of fans, 4 is a unlucky number there ?
The Rolex Sea dweller and now the Deep-sea is IMO the best they make , As I don't like the date magnifier on most of there watches.
