I also don't like the bezels appart from the 6.75. Size is also a problem for me but I guess that is personnaly to me...

what's different with the 6.75 bezel compared to the Motors or GT? And all the fakes don't bother me...just makes me happier that mine is real and theirs is not.

Only difference is that the Motors T has a machined looking bezel. The rest of the models that you mentioned have the knurled crisscross pattern bezel which I feel adds to the extreme bling factor. I could care less about it looking fancy I just love the case back.

That's right i meant Motors T bezel...my bad.

that's what I figured but had to ask.
I like the bezel. It's almost like a fancier Navitimer

I'm also a fan of the flying B, but like the others have said, not the price tag. The only Bentley I could wear is the GT which is by far my favorite. I simply can't pull off the 48mm cases.

I'm not sure what the intended role was, but I like most of the Bentley range. Hell, I should as I have three. :)

I'd be very happy to get my hands on a Flying B Chrono, but not at that price.

A magazine (sorry, can't recall which one) wrote about the Breitling/Bentley partnership earlier this year. The author called it one of the most successful luxury brand partnerships and I would tend to agree with that characterization. Of course I have no knowledge of the actual numbers ($$$) involved but from what I see and read, it is a mutually beneficial strategic arrangement.

Breitling would do well to expand their marketing beyond this addition of an automotive theme. The last catalog features nothing but airplanes; even the Avenger Seawolf and Superocean Steelfish are pictured next to vintage planes. Of course, aviation has been the biggest and most prestigious theme for the brand's products, but I'd argue that today as always, the brand appeals to a much wider audience than just pilots. I'd think that a stronger marketing strategy would be to present more appropriate images alongside the watches: sailors and divers with the Aeromarines, expeditioners/world travelers in exotic landscapes for the Navitimer World, search and rescue team members with an Emergency, etc.

Peace

Mike

I agree, that would be cool. It would be especially cool to recruit a fleet of professionals as ambassadors. Just like how Omega "uses" Buzz Aldrin and Eugene Cernan for the Speedmaster, and Ellen MacArthur for the Aqua Terra. But when it comes to ambassadors, I'd prefer to have only professionals, and no celebs.

I hear ya.

Mini-rant, a bit off-topic:

There are celebrities famous for having talent, and then there are celebrities famous for being famous. Who the #%@! are the Kardashians, and why should I "keep up" with them? Why does anyone care about anything that Kate Gosselin does?

At least Clooney and Kidman, as Omega ambassadors, are talented actors.

Peace

Mike

:yeahthat ...and I was about to suggest that B should use a combination of the two, but I realized that would ad up to proffesional celebs. :huh Which is exactly what Paris Hiltons and the Kardashians are!

So how about famous professionals!

I think the Ferrari line is pretty nice and almost bought one, thinking 50% off was a great deal, until I read that they don't retain their value. The biggest difference, IMO, is that the Ferrari watch does not say panerai on the dial. I don't think many people would buy the Bentley Breitlings if the dial only had a big bentley logo on it. Most people would not even notice the "for bentley" on the dial and everyone that sees my Motors T thinks Breitling not Bentley.

I disagree completely. Most of the fakes - at least the scary good fakes - are in the Aeromarine and Windrider range. Steelfish, Heritage46, Skyland, Evolution. The Bentleys are easy to spot. There are Steelfish, Heritage46, and Evolutions out there that are virtual identicals and those are the ones the Chinese are selling like hotcakes. Even some good Skylands and they are getting better.

Remember the guy who keeps popping up on ebay with that very good Steelfish fake? Were it not for some issues with the COSC certificate, we would not have been able to tell.

As a former owner of 2 GTs, they are amazing watches in my view. It doesn't matter to me if they look like the rest of the Breitlings. Actually I don't understand that logic. A Navi doesn't look a thing like an Aeromarine - does that make the Navi or a Steelfish out of Beitling style??
If so, which one????

I love this forum, but sometimes I feel we think waaaaay too hard. Different watches for different tastes. Always a good thing IMO.

It's nice to see all the positive attitudes here towards the bentley line. I'm used to another forum where everybody looks down on the bentleys. This might be the place for me.

Thanks,

Peter

I think youre right. While the Bentley line takes cues from the Bentley brand and incorporates them into the design of the watch, Panerai just takes a regular watch and sticks a giant ferrari emblem on it.

That is so true, but they still are the ones that are the most widely available as fakes/replicas. And unless you know your watches...or you keep roaming on the watch forums like us, Mr. and Ms doesn't know your Bentley is a fake, or a bad fake for that matter, and doesn't know that your superb Evolution is in fact a replica.

And yes we think to much, that's why we are posting here...it's just fun. hehe
