Hold out for the RJ Moon Dust Roff! As Driver said this watch will temporarily quench your thirst but it is not that different from the sea of mass produced watches out there, the RJ is not for me personally but I can see it in a more diverse collection. Also the wait will add to your enjoyment of the watch, I have found that the longer I crave a watch and anticipate the purchase the more I enjoy it! Hey I am not saying getting 7 watches in a month sucks either

Then again maybe just get a PAM 233?

Seriously, hold out for that RJ, would add a wonderful dimension to any collection.

You have been posting about the RJs for nearly a year. They truly are some of the most "unique" pieces around. That is what you state you are moving toward as your collection matures. I think you need to stay with that. The Zenith is very nice, but not what you really want. Get the real thing, not the easy thing! :cheer:

Well, things may change in the next couple of hours - http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... K:MEWAX:IT

The head says leave well alone - low feedback seller, generic photo, etc.

The heart says I could get a bargain and that's what credit card and paypal protection is for.

Decisions, decisions........

While that Zenith is a very nice piece, I'm with most people in recommending you stay the course and wait until later in the year for a RJ or LM.

Of couse what I expect you to do is get both so this recommendation is, I think, superfluous. Wrist shots please

Yeah, and an LE of 4. I did bid, but didn't win. Sold for $4,226 which is a steal if it was a genuine deal, I just couldn't bid that high with the doubts in my mind about the seller / listing.

 I would've gone for that if I was you Roff. If I'd seen it earlier myself I'd have been tempted (if the guy would've shipped to the UK  ). As you say, that's what Paypal protection is for...........

It was DEFINITELY dodgy. Single generic photo, low feedback, no additional information, etc, etc. You made the RIGHT choice Roff!

(Feel better now? :poke:  )

I almost asked my contact at Louis Moinet whether they had sold one in NC, just didn't think that was the right thing to do given that he is trying to help me find one that they'll actualy get money for!

Well Roff, we are obviously in different leagues . . . I am saving up for my first high-quality watch. It's very probably going to be a Breitling, and I have a self-imposed goal of getting it this year.

But as a general buying philosophy, I buy the best I can afford with an eye to keep it for a long time. So I would say hold out for what you really want. Of the three you posted, the Romain Jerome would be my pick.

Peace

Mike

I think you totally made the right choice in avoiding that one. Sure, PayPal protection is definitely worth something, but why tempt fate when there will be other watches out there from more trustworthy sellers?

BTW, don't buy the Moon Dust because I want one, too, and there is a limited supply. ;) (unless you are getting the gold model...that's OK).

Well if it was me, I think I'd hang out for the Louis Moinet.

At least that's what I'd like to say. What I'd actually do might be different (e.g. hang out for a short period, snap and buy something else in the meantime, end up buying the LM as well anyway  ).
