Hi folks -

It's been a little while since I have been here. I am still on my Breitling hunt.
I won't go into the delays of life... but I have a question about the movements of the Bentley 6.75.

When I visit an AD, The watches aren't moving, and they look real nice, and depending on the sales person,
they don't know how all the watches work, wind, specific details, etc.

That's why I am here!

On the 6.75, is the second hand, part of the watch, a seconds hand, or part of the chronometer?

This may be a dumb question, but I am curious if the 6.75 has a smooth sweep hand (e.g. Rolex).

Any and all info is appreciated.

The 6.75 (and all Breitling chronographs) has two seconds hands. The one at 3 o'clock is the running seconds that will appear smooth but actually ticks 4 times per second. The central seconds hand is for the chronograph and will tick at the same rate when the chronograph is running.

even the Rolex Daytona has the seconds counted in one of the small subdials (not sure which one) and the large second hand is for the chronogragh.

The 6.75 is a great watch, good choice!

What I found interesting was that you said the seconds hands ticks 4 times /second.
That explains why it's not smooth to my eye. I have seen other non-chronograph Breitlings, and the seconds hand didn't sweep perfectly smoothly. There was a slight stutter to it, and that explains it.

IMHO - It's a shame the central seconds hand was the main one. I always think that feature always looks nicer.
But that's just me.

Well a non chrono gives you that central second hand. Depending on gearing most watches will only sweep four times a second, although the Zenith El Primero is five times.
