The Bentley Range is a nice range, I like alot of the watches in it, but what Exactly is Breitling trying to achieve with the Bentley branding?

- The new models Bentley Supersports and GMT Midnight Carbon, along with Bentley Motors, Motors T, 6.75, Bentley GT, GT Racing, GMT and Mulliner Tourbillon could all be put into a new branding which fits more snuggly in the Breitling lineup. Im not a fan of the Flying Bs at all, whilst the MV1s could also find a proper place in the lineup but what exactly is Breitling trying to achieve with the Bentley Branding?

Personally, i think they were/are going for more of a higher end line, more auto themed than airplane themed, i love almost all the Bentleys, i think they are a little overpriced for what they are, but that makes them a little more exclusive. i may at some point be down to 2 breitlings, both in the bentley line if some of my plans work out.

Your not the only guy in America that likes the Flying B I am in the same boat as you, though. Waiting for that majoc number to arrive before I can justify buying one. I had a Flying B (on a croc) on the wrist once and I thought it was really nice, just not nice enough to bump others off the list yet.

I'm probably a little biased because I own one, but I like the more squared look of the line up more than the rounded look of the Breitling line up. I think the Bentley name is strictly for marketing. I did not buy mine because of the name, just loved the watch. Although it states that the watch faces have some of the same paint scheme as the cars with colors and metallic flakes.

I think the problem is that most of us think of rap videos when we hear about Bentley. Bentley actually has a very rich and interesting history and its no surprise to me that Breitling (or an other brand) would like to be associated with them. A lot of people who are unfamiliar would probably be surprised if they read about the history of the Bentley brand.

I have a bentley and think its the best looking Breitling in the line-up. That being said, i understand where the OP is coming from. I also like Panerai, but would never own one of the Ferrari models. I think they looked cheap. I am glad the Breitling Bentley doesnt carry the same stigma as the Panerai Ferrari.......yet

There are plenty of watch brands that have auto connections - it clearly makes sense. However I think that the Bentley connection needs to be 'refreshed' - it's 8 years old now and doesn't seem to have advanced in that time. Not sure exactly how they do it, but it's starting to feel 'tired'.

The problem with the Ferrari models is that they looked like something youd buy in the Ferrari gift shop as a souvenir after your factory tour.

Breitling makes the dash clock on some Bentley models, at least they used to. Or, I guess I should say that the dash clocks in some Bentleys say "Breitling"; I don't know who actually makes the clock.

I totally agree with you RJ when it comes to the Ferrari Panerais. The thing is, they are very VERY nice watches in just about every way..... except for the badge on the dial!

I should think of the Bentley models in the same way, but for some reason I don't. I think they are superb pieces. I've owned 4 and currently have 2. The only negative thing about them IMO is the whole "bling bling gangsta rapper" association that was mentioned above and has come about in the last couple of years or so.

Oh and they are priced a little on the high side considering what's inside - same ETA bases as the rest of the Breitling range except the B01.

What I personnaly dislike about the bentley line is that most of the fakes/replicas you see around are from the bentley line.

I also don't like the bezels appart from the 6.75. Size is also a problem for me but I guess that is personnaly to me...

I think the 'bling bling' factor comes from the Knurled bezel. I own a 6.75 and people always comment on how flashy it looks. I previously owned a Motor T and I got a completely different reaction when I wore that watch. I know how significant the knurled bezel is to the Bentley line but I think it's time for a change. The machined bezel is a lot less 'bling bling' looking. The only reason I kept the 6.75 was because of the case back which I happen to think is one of the nicest case backs ever made. Id love for breitling to incorporate that rim design somehow onto the face.

personally i DON'T LIKE Bentley line up.. it's not Breitling, really. not for me, even if i would have lots of money i would never buy a Breitling-Bentley watch, any..

what's different with the 6.75 bezel compared to the Motors or GT? And all the fakes don't bother me...just makes me happier that mine is real and theirs is not.

Only difference is that the Motors T has a machined looking bezel. The rest of the models that you mentioned have the knurled crisscross pattern bezel which I feel adds to the extreme bling factor. I could care less about it looking fancy I just love the case back.
