Hello,

Im new to the forum but have been brousing for a while. So Ive decided I want a Super Avenger as my first real big watch purchase, but cant decide what color dial I should get. Im thinking of getting a new or possibly used one? Anyways, Im drawn to the arabic numbers in a the white or black face. I like the black face with the arabic numbers, but dont like the white subdials. Im also attracted to the all black dial with baton markers, but really like the numbers?

How did you guys decide what color to get. Im also thinking white dial arabic numbers, but wonder if it is too light of a color combo for my relativly fair skin color with blond hair? I know Im probably getting a little carried away, but if you wouldnt mind sharing how you decided that would be great.

If you are getting your first "big boy" watch, I think you will be most pleased with a variation of black or white. Classic, clean, & versatile. All the blues, greys, and others are very nice, but would work better as a sidekick.

I have never owned a blue dial, and would love to buy one at some point. The blue SOH for example is striking. Everyday wear, not sure

I too was in your shoes and had narrowed it down to the white and black baton marker dial. I chose the all black dial because it had a sleeker look to the dial. The white is a dull white in my opinion and just seemed as though I would get bored with it after a short while. The black looks great on the Pro II as well as black leather, croc or rubber so hands down seems more versatile to me. I'm really pleased with my choice and I'm sure you'll choose what's best for you and your likes. Try them on and see which one speaks to you!

If I could do it all over again Id get battons instead of arabic. White battons that is. Im currently looking for my second SA which is gonna be black battons just trying to find the right price!!

I currently have a black arabic, but really wish i had a black baton. Oh well..... Happy shopping.

I thought i was always a black dial guy...all my watches have been black.

so i started saving for a black batons Super Avenger...

once i had enough cash i went to my local dealer all set to buy the black batons..

BUT when i seen the white stencil dial Super Avenger..i just had to have it.

saying that i will prob buy myself a black batons in the future unless breitling release a version with black dial and black subdials

Well I decided after much deliberation. I feel the same way, I wish they made a black face preferably numbered, with black subdials. After looking over the options though, I decided on the white numbered face with silver subdials. I like the way the white face is close in color to the silver bezel, and therefore I thnk it looks bigger and a little cleaner to read?

Now I just need to get comfortable wearing it casually with a t-shirt. I feel like Im afraid to rest my arm down on something for fear of scratching the braclet.

It's a little smaller than the Super Avenger, though, 45x17mm compared to 48x18mm (approximately). Dunno how you feel about those stenciled numerals either (I think they're great).



My personal watch-wearing philosophy goes something like this...
Both of my watches are from the Aeromarine line, and they were the first nice watches I bought. I wanted to be able to wear them all the time. What's the point of having something nice, if I don't wear it?

I wear mine everywhere, out to bars and during military operations. I accept that the metal parts of my watch are going to get scratched, sort of how I accept that my person's going to get scratched up too. I think of it as character. One day when I get a dressier watch, a Cosmonaute say, to wear on fancy occasions, I'll treat it more gently.

You'll have to figure out for yourself when and under what circumstances you'll want to wear your new watch. If you do wear it everywhere, it will take some scratches, but based on my experience, it will also operate just fine.

My Super Avenger has a few scratches...but hey I put them there and nobody else did!

I'm glad to hear others appreciate the Avenger's black dial with black subdials and white stencil numerals. I love the look of this dial, bold and masculine with a military look from the stencils. Great contrast, easy to read.

This is my favorite of all the Avengers!
