Hi Folks,

I just wanted to give credit where credit is due.

I had a great experience with a complete overhaul of my 2002 Colt Automatic.

I have pretty much worn this watch everyday for the last 8 years. Recently, I noticed that it was running about 6-8 seconds behind a day. I subsequently decided to let my watch run and see how much reserve it had - about 38 hours.

I was thinking about getting a new Breitling, but love this watch as my daily watch and did not have the heart to sell or trade it. (I also thought about getting a Seamaster PO or Rolex Submariner, but really love the Breitling).

Nevertheless, I sent it in for a complete overhaul. On assessment, the crystal was suggested to be replaced given that it had minor scratches. The watch was received by them on March 22 and I got my watch back April 21. The customer service was responsive to email and phone questions.

The power reserve (over the last two days) was about 41 hours and 45 minutes, and seems initially to be running about less than +2 secs a day fast (based on time.gov).

With the overhaul service, crystal and shipping - a little over $400. Honestly, not too bad given its initial condition. In retrospect, I wished that they would just clean the watch and not polish it - I do prefer the scratches as they give it character. Oh well, new scratches will occur over time.

Anyways, my two cents.

Best wishes,
dcrc

Glad to hear that you had such a positive experience and now have a 'new' watch.

As you know the scratches won't take long to reappear.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Not bad considering the crystal replacement.

BTW, you could have asked them not to polish it and they would have left it how it was.
