Who's using metric time? I read an article here in the states (farming paper) that said its going to be taking over the 24 hour clock as we know it.

I have seems some watches that seem to have 1-100 metric seconds? example Skyland...

Thoughts?

It's never going to happen.

Look how hard it is to get people to use litres, kilometres, celsius, etc.

Now try changing the way that time controls everything about our lives - never in a million years (or metric equivalent).

I agree, it'll never happen...

Is the Skyland 1-100 a step in that direction or something else?

I always thought that metric time was just a joke on The Simpsons....

The 100ths of an hour dials aren't too uncommon - vaguely useful I guess, but nothing to do with metric time.

It is useful for quickly calculating production figures.

Well, let's see.... As I write this it is approximately 70560 UTC on 4-22-2010. Wow, that's going to be easy!

I'll be ready to switch to metric time as soon as we've colonized another planet...maybe.
