hi, all. new to breitling but interested in a professional aerospace titanium case w/ black face and titanium bracelet. having trouble figuring out current model numbers and exactly what the face looks like

most sites on line show an "avantage" E7936210/b781 as being current. the breitling site itself makes no reference to "avantage" nor can i find the actual model numbers.

in addition, virtually every picture of the face i have seen on line has a smooth black background with 5-10-15-20 ... minute indications on the face in very small font, yet the breitling web site shows a black face with some fine vertical lines in the center and full 1-12 hours indications without the minutes indications.

does anyone know what the right current model designators are and what is the "right" face look

thanks for the prompt response. i had seen that first link. my problem is that this picture (and all others i have found on line) does not match what breitling shows on line:



trying to determine what is right. is the new face not available yet or is it that everyone just uses the older picture?

do you think the model numbers i mentioned are still right?

I believe the picture you posted with the all arabic hour markers (1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11) small, 3,6,9,12 large is the latest model (2010). Earlier versions had only arabic 3,6,9,12.

The newer models also have the "vertical line" section in the middle of dial.
I'm not sure of the model numbers.

The one you have posted up in the thread is 100% the current model.

Personally I prefer the plainer dial of the previous model, listed on this site as the 'current model'. The Avantage is exactly the same with the plainer dial.

The model number for the exact watch in your picture is E7936210/B962. I just bought one this morning!

I gave some serious thought to buying a 1999-2000 Repetition Minutes before I decided to go new. I've had a 2006 Blackbird for a few years, but I've always wanted a SuperQuartz. Since the used one wasn't SuperQuartz, I decided the volcano black was the route to go. The RepMin was easier to read, thanks to non-reflective numbers and a flat black face. But now that I have the 2010 model, I really like the backlight.

I was surprised to discover that the bezel isn't unidirectional on mine. It only turns CCW. BUSA's website says that it's unidirectional, so I don't know if that's an error on the site, or if mine has a problem. Given that it's day one and I don't mind that it only turns CCW, I doubt that I'll do anything about it.

Anyway, I hope the model number helps.

Unidirectional means the bezel only moves anti/counter clockwise so the web site is OK. Bi-directional means it turns both ways like on the B-1/Airwolf.

I am sure you will enjoy the new one anyway but I agree with you on the older aerospaces looking better in some respects. You can get an older one with the SuperQuartz movement you were after.
I bought a very nice one, the model after the Repetition Minutes model which went back to "Chronometre Aerospace" on the dial and come out in 2001/2 and lasted up to about 2005 as the E/F/K75362 Models.
I Always liked a bit of gold next to the titanium so by getting the last "aerospace" bracelet with gold on it on this watch (which is the first example of the superquartz movement) on the F75362 with the gold markers on the bezel I think you get the nicest of all the Aerospace watches IMHO.

The Aerospace is a great watch in all variants, I'm particularly partial to the 42mm versions prior to the later pinstripe dial. Perfection for this model would be full luminous arabic numbers and the 42mm case.
