Here are 3 more pics not on the original eBay page of the 7750 and the inside of the caseback, that the seller sent me on request.
breanach78, if the new model equivalent goes for + 18k euros in Ireland, how much do you think this one would be worth? Anyone?

I think that the price that you paid was fair in this economy - these gold pieces are seriously depressed from where they were a couple of years ago - which hopefully means that they'll recover with the economy.

Still confused :?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I already wrote you that.
It's an ordinary Arabics Chronomat from around 93-94.

That's right you did - I must have overlooked that, sorry.
I got back from Istanbul yesterday with the watch. Absolutely chuffed - it's gorgeous!
Only 1 little snag however: the 45 tab on the bezel is slightly loose (no big deal) and deformed (bent) due, I'm guessing, to a forceful impact. As a result the tab lies at an angle and rides slightly high on the sapphire. I'll post some close-ups just as soon as I get around to finding my camera in this unholy hovel that I call home. It's barely noticeable but I'm tempted to have something done about it. Would the 18k tab have to be replaced or could it simply be repaired (bent back into shape)?
The right thing would probably be to take it to Breitling for a full maintenance or possibly even overhaul but the prospect of having to dish out $700+ (I live in Paris where EVERYTHING is more expensive) is a bit off-putting to say the least.
Any wisdom to share? Pleeeease? :(

I have three Chronomats (A, D, & K) an Emergency,& an Aerospace, all have a four digit serial number. I have never seen a COSC watch with less than five digits, early 2000's used a six digit serial. I think the last few years they used a seven digit serial. I also have a Callisto with a two digit serial which proves anything is possible. The Chronomat is a great piece at a fantastic price. retail for the gold deployment clasp is over £2000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steve

From the looks of this picture I would bet that the tab is not bent, rather the very delicate screw that holds the tab on is. The good news is that it's an easy fix. The bad news is that the screw is probably stretched out and any minor bump on the tab could send it off to never never land. Any decent Breitling dealer should be able to replace the screw for a minimal charge. I would suggest that you do not try and tighten it down or you will have a 2 piece watch.

Also in terms of COSC certificates 18K models were certified before they started doing them all. So I would bet that your is.

This is from the 95 sales hand book: The 92/93 book states the same.

By the way...

Very nice watch! Enjoy it....

Pictures speak louder than words as you can see below. I dunno but I think the screw's okay (it's in all the way), the tab looks like it just needs to be bent back into shape? Could be I'm talking out of my plug hole

There are few gold-cased Chronomats (one looks uncannily like mine) on eBay right now that anyone who liked mine might want to take a look at. Reasonably priced too!
Here are the links:

The excerpt from the Ling sales Handbook is particularly informative and really set my mind at ease as I would have thought otherwise had you not have set me right. Thanks :D
I'm enjoying the watch so much I've only taken it off long enough to take the tab pictures. Can't peel my eyes off it! :lingsrock:
