i saw a couple breitling leather straps with the clasps on ebay for $150-200. is that a normal price?? how are breitling leather straps??

any recommendation for a cheaper strap but still has excellent quality?

Not sure if you mean tang buckles or deployment clasps. Tang buckle straps can be had from most ADs for about $125. Not sure the price on the deployment clasp ones - but I think the deployment for leather clasps is well north of $100. You can find the retail price on the list of brcelets and straps on this website.

As for the strap quality- I think they are awesome.

There are a huge number of eBay fakes, so check here first before buying.

Pound to a penny they will be fakes. Feel free to post links to the auctions in the Replica section and we'll take a look for you.

Breitling straps are superb quality but if you just want to try different straps out without paying a fortune, I always suggest BOB straps who are in Germany and trade on eBay. I've had a few off him and they're fine for the money. Not up to Breitling quality but a fraction of the price.

OK, that makes it clearer!

By clasp,we all assumed it was a deployant but it's a tang buckle. The seller used the wrong term when he said clasp.

The latest price list I have (2009) has a list price of $160 for a leather/tang strap whereas it's $400 with a deployant clasp.
