Hi Guys

Just had an idea...... Bare with me...

What new innovations, style changes , features etc what would you like to impliment on the models you have or the the models on offer.( have a chrono but would like a non chrono, or have titanium but would prefer steel etc)

To give an example would you like different colours, features, water resistance, movements etc or what.

Personally I have a Skyracer and I personalised it by going all brushed finishhanks for your comments regarding the looks) But after seeing the Raven models I felt that they were slightly unfinnished. I thought the full black finnish that the new Blackbird and other models have would work well on it. my opinion, please don't lynch me.lol

Also advancing the professional range (a personal fave) with a Skyracer with no chrono would be very unique IMHO.
Its an interesting watch with many features that I think Breitling will lose (given recent rumours) 200m wather resistance, slid rule, chrono etc., its an all over model and unique regarding the internals (breitling 23 me thinks)

The new models don't blow my skirt up ( no smirks please) and I think it would be nice to see what you guys would change or alter with regards the models you own (firstly) and then the models available from Breitling.

I think they miss a lot of opportunities big time.

Let me know (sorry for the long rant/post)

K

I'd like to have:

1) B-1 back to life

2) Blackbird all-polished version, but with brushed bezel

3) Chronomat Evo with B01 movement, Blackbird with B01 movement, Navi World with B01 movement

4) Navi World in 42 or 43mm diameter case

5) GlideLock-like clasp on Pro II bracelet

Easy answer for me -

Ditch all the new models since 2008 (except the Seawolf), and drop an in-house movement in everything that remains. Job done!

Ditching all the models since 2008 xcept for the seawolf is unfair on the BO1 buyers. I agree they should ditch most of the models since 2008 but the BO1 as it came out should continue. It bought a whole heap of new people to Breitling and the BO1 seems to be becoming a very popular watch in Australia.

I love the diversity of the Breitling lineup but don't like where they are heading this year from the Basel pictures. A lot of them are starting to look cheap. I think it should stay a "luxury" brand but some of these look like something I can buy at WalMart.

I would really like to see them work on more in house movements as well as most people here would.

For me tha Galactic is a no go! I tried to like it but I just dont! Breitling should ditch it.

For me the Breitling Range could do with a high class dress watch something similar to the IWC Yacht Club, If for example the IWC Yacht Club was a "Breitling Flight Club" then I would buy it without any shadow of a doubt and I would be prepared to pay a premium to other Breitling watches to get it. It would be a real classy addition to the Breitling Range.

And whilst it would add another Bezel into the range, the reality is that there a number of different bezels in the Breitling range, the Bentleys, the Chronomats and the BO1s all carry a different Bezel.

Some of the Japanese LEs like the Chronomat Blue Impulse should become standard- whilst only being a dial change up its actually an exciting watch and stays within the Breitling dna.

In terms of new LEs shown, I like the Cosmonaut but only on a rubber. Montbrilliant Legende LE is also quite good as is the Chronospace and the Avenger Seawolf Blacksteel LE. The Colt Range could be extended to provided cover at the lower price levels.

Thats my take on what should of happened although I admit my hoping for a copycat Yacht Club in the Breitling Range is more hope than anything else.

I've provided my thoughts on the current models, I don't like the Chronomat B01 (let's be honest - I hate it), but I recognise that it brings new people to Breitling, I just don't get why that design concept is now dominating - it's one thing to attract new buyers, it's another to repel all existing buyers! As for why B01 isn't appearing elsewhere - that's a completely misguided approach - even if every B01 they produced was being snapped up as as soon as it went into a Chronomat B01 (which isn't true) then they should be looking to diversify.

For this question I'm faced with comparing with other watch brands and considering where I would like to see Breitling headed. At the moment they seem to be trying to compete with the Tag customer, but at a significantly higher price point. Where I would like to see them go - well, I think that until a couple of years ago they had a design aesthetic to compete favourably with IWC, JLC, Zenith, etc. Where they fell short was in the lack of an in house movement. They can now address that, so where I would liketo see them go is to develop variants on the B01 movement and create a range of in house versions that balance tradition and progress. Give us in house Navitimers, Bentleys, Aeromarines, Professionals and more Windriders. Maintain the current aesthetic with some evolution, not revolution. If Galactic is going to be part of that then OK - I don't have to like everything, but for that to be the only thing on offer at Basel (with the exception of a couple of cosmetic changes) is simply incomprehensible.

Hey Roff- What do you think of my suggestion that Breitling needs a watch like the IWC Yacht Club. I think a similar type watch would make an outstanding addition to the range and take the brand upmarket.

I think Breitling 'needs' a lot of things - I wouldn't personally flag the Yacht Club, but that's just my taste. I do think that Breitling needs to offer more variation in their offerings - a power reserve, a regulator, a display back, some retrograde displays, etc.

Think about how many watches Breitling produce and yet they are all variations on the same thing. The furthest that they have gone from that model in recent years was the digital jump hour Flying B and that's an odd complication to have brought in as they are never particularly popular - particularly at such a high price point.

I actually tend to agree. For better or for worse the first Breitling in-house movement was in the B01 so that has to stay IMO. Why they haven't yet put the B01 or a variation in other models, such as the Navitimer is beyond me though.

A dress watch would be nice but as it doesn't 'fit' the current Breitling image, it's not the first thing I would do. Having said that it wouldn't hurt.

I don't know that they need to do a lot to their existing models, particularly the classic ones (Navi, Chronomat) as they look good the way they are. An in-house movement would be all I would do.

is this not what Omega is sort of doing with the seamaster and their coaxial movement ? A classic design with a newer movement ?
