With all the BMW horror stories, I thought I would say that the dealer in my town is actually remarkably good. In an their former urban location, they got a lot of traffic from people just wandering in off of the street as they are out walking around (especially on the 2 or 3 sunny days we get every year). I was in the showroom once when this elderly person came in off of the street wearing dirty sweatpants and a rather threadbare t-shirt. Pretty soon they had him test driving a 750iL.
It is just amazing the variances in levels of service that exist out there for anything, especially luxury things: watches, cars, boats, airplanes, hotels, clothes. About the only thing we
can rely on to provide consistent levels of service, at least in the U.S., is the airlines: they're all bad.
