Not personally my favourite VC, but yes, it is nice. I'm not sure whether the crown would get annoying though.

Agreed. Are they considered good watches / good value for money? I can't say I know a lot about them to be honest.

They are certainly high end pieces. They don't have the same cachet as a PP, Lange & Sohne, etc, but then they aren't in that price category either - at least for comparable pieces.

I find that a lot of them are similar to one another and if I am going to pay that much for a dress watch then I'm likely to pay that bit more for a Lange & Sohne. However, the Les Historiques range (that this American 1921 is from) are different and the Quai de L'Ile range are very special in my opinion - especially the ones that can be customised.

I have loads of "sporty watches" and have been looking more and more at the more dressy brands and models. For a straight gold dress, I really like Vacheron. Simple and elegant. Patek's are extremely overpriced IMO and Lange are bad ass with a price to match. I might not be ready to shell out the money required to pick up one of these brands, new, but a used Vacheron is easily within range and very classy. I have also been looking more and more at GO, but the models I like are out of my reach....

i think it's a stunner and Vacheron is, well, Vacheron. Sure it's dressy, it's a DRESS watch.

Speakng of watches, I was wearing my Bentley GT the other day when a friend said, "that's the gawdiest watch I've ever seen." The hospital says he should be released in a couple days and the GT shaped indentation in his head should heal up eventually.

Exceptional value for money - and great customer service. That's what you get for dealing with the principals. If you know the story it's also very interesting.

Sorry Bronco, but that VC isn't doing it for me. I like a few VC models but that one's just not one of them. Reminds me a little too much of an offset Radiomir.

Oh and Dornblueth & Sohn make some excellent value (and high quality) pieces.

Lange 1 :drool: :drool: :drool: Without question, one of the best looking watch on the market right now.

@Bronco
Not feeling this one even slightly. Its like they tried to make it look different just for the sake of being different. Of course, I have no clue if there is some sort of historical significance that I dont know about.

I like it. understated, but just different enough to get noticed.

It's a recreation of a very early wrist watch from the 20s
